Today, I’m excited to introduce you to
Ueki Yonezuka in Kita Ward, Kumamoto City, home to
“Ueki Onsen Yaya no Yu Ryokan”.
The traditional exterior exudes a wonderful sense of Japanese charm.
There’s a spacious parking lot that can accommodate up to 50 cars.

Although it’s a traditional Japanese ryokan in Ueki Onsen,
I heard their Italian lunch is absolutely delicious, so I had to come check it out!

As you step inside the ryokan, on your left you’ll find a charming café space called
“Yanagiya Coffee Shop”
The owner is a true espresso enthusiast who
imported a genuine espresso machine straight from Italy
to brew authentic Italian espresso ☕️

I keep saying “espresso” over and over, but trust me—
this is a level of caffè you simply can’t find anywhere else in Kumamoto…
No, seriously, it’s pure caffè magic!!!

And how cute are these cups? 😍

…Anyway, moving on!

To the back right is the restaurant area.
Normally, it can seat over 20 people,
but they’re currently keeping it to 12–15 seats with social distancing in mind.

You can dine with peace of mind, knowing they’ve adapted to the new lifestyle standards!

Inside the restaurant, you’ll find
these stylish, Instagram-worthy spots!

The interior reflects careful attention to detail, creating a calm and refined atmosphere!
Just being here makes you feel wonderfully indulgent (*^^*)

For lunch, you can choose from:
One-Plate Lunch — 850 yen
Pasta (with salad) — 1,350 yen
Course (appetizer, salad, meat dish, bread, dessert, drink) — 1,750 yen

On this visit, I went with the One-Plate Lunch.

Whoa!
This is WAY too generous for 850 yen!!!

Chef, are the food costs really okay…?

Their dishes feature seasonal vegetables sourced locally from Kikuchi and Koshi,
which the head chef transforms into delicious Italian creations.

The menu changes slightly every day, so you can enjoy something different every visit!

The excitement just doesn’t stop!

And of course, you can enjoy the hot springs too! ♨️

relax in the soothing onsen waters,
