Ko-Ko-Kono KOSHI Kasumiso Hiroba Activity Report: 18th Parenting Community Gathering

A Look at September

On September 17th, we held another session of “Kasumiso Hiroba,” the parenting community gathering born from Saru Kuma!
@sarukoukumamoto

This time was a first for us — Baby Dance! ♩
Some moms might have been wondering, “What exactly is Baby Dance? Isn’t dancing a bit embarrassing?”

We started off with some sweet bonding play with the babies.
“Here we go — let’s have some fun with mommy! ♪”
The moment Tsuda-sensei began to sing, even the fussiest little ones were drawn right in.
We did finger play games and the moms introduced themselves to one another. With so many returning regulars, splitting into age groups makes future meetups even more friendly and familiar!

Before the dancing began — stretching time!
It’s hard for moms to find time for self-care, isn’t it? After a good stretch, many moms felt their stiff shoulders finally loosen up.

We also took the time to properly adjust everyone’s baby carriers!
Most of the moms had their carriers sitting right on their hips, which was putting strain on their bodies.
After a careful adjustment from the instructor — it’s dance time! ♪

And when we say “dance,” we mean simple side-to-side steps — nothing to feel shy about at all.
Once everyone got the hang of it, we tried stepping along to the classic Japanese children’s song “Donguri Korokoro” ♪ Apparently the regular classes get progressively more challenging — sounds intriguing! lol

The moms shared lovely feedback like, “I want to do this again!” “My postpartum stamina is gone — I’m exhausted!” and “The instructor was so funny and fun!”
Looks like this one’s becoming a regular event!

One-off events are also held, so be sure to check the instructor Tsuda-san’s account for details.

Holding your little one in your arms is something only possible right now. Yes, they’re heavy, and constant cries of “hold me, hold me!” can be tough on a mom.
But we hope you’ll savor these fleeting moments of cradling your child in your arms.

Once again, we borrowed a height/weight scale and a variety of toys from Yusui Toyooka Nursery School.
Thank you so much for your support!

During activities, you might just spot a baby happily settled on the principal’s lap! lol
The principal is incredibly approachable, so don’t hesitate to strike up a conversation (^^)

About the Organizers

This is a parenting community gathering held in Koshi City, but you don’t have to be a Koshi City resident — and it’s open to families with or without babies!
Our goal is for moms and children to find a place to chat, take part in activities, and enjoy a much-needed break.
It’s run by current moms in Kumamoto who want to make parenting more enjoyable.

◆”Riri-san” experienced isolated parenting after a job transfer and is passionate about helping other moms avoid the same loneliness.
She shares family-friendly outing tips through her parenting account.
The lovely photos from Kasumiso Hiroba are also taken by Riri-san.

Same-day cancellations due to your child feeling unwell are no problem at all! Please feel free to apply.

We update our Instagram daily, too!
At Saru Kuma, we share information for Kumamoto parents on lunch spots, parks, indoor play areas, and more.
