📌 What You’ll Learn in This Article
Our Sarukuma writer visited “BAKU,” an adorable kids’ clothing boutique in Nishihara Village. Prices start at Â¥1,900. We’ll cover family-friendly features, access, and opening hours all in one place.

About the Store

Hello, fellow travelers!
I’m Ayu-mama, a writer for “Sarukuma.”

Confession time – I’m a self-proclaimed clothing addict.
Despite a closet bursting at the seams, I’m always declaring,
“I have nothing to wear today!” and shopping yet again.

Once I became a mom, my own wardrobe took a back seat – and my son became my real-life dress-up doll!

Kids’ clothes are just irresistibly cute, aren’t they?
These days, I’ll agonize over a Â¥500 T-shirt for myself, but for my son I happily justify every purchase with
“He needs lots of changes!” or “He outgrew his last one!”

Bottom line – I just want to dress my little guy in the cutest outfits possible! (Long live doting parents!)

Today, I’m introducing a wonderfully stylish children’s clothing shop!

The store is located in Komori, Nishihara Village, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture:
BAKU!

The cute BAKU sign welcomes you in!
The shop sits directly across from Yamada Farm (which Sarukuma has featured before).
It’s also conveniently close to Moe no Sato, another spot we’ve covered.

Even the storefront radiates style.

In Japanese folklore, the “baku” is a mythical creature said to devour bad dreams.

The owner chose this name with a heartfelt wish – to bring sweet dreams to children!
That’s how the shop became BAKU!

What a beautiful concept!

Recommended Items

Inside, the shop is packed with adorable kids’ clothing – mostly featuring Korean brands.

Sizes range from baby up to size 130 (around age 7-8)!Perfect for matching sibling outfits, too!

Just look at these girls’ outfits – they’re absolutely darling!
If I had a daughter, I would have bought everything in sight! (lol)

The owner’s eye for selection really shines through!

Lots of cozy, fluffy seasonal pieces lined up for the cooler months.

Every single piece is just too cute!

And the prices are wonderfully budget-friendly!
Kids grow out of clothes so fast and come home covered in dirt – so affordable prices are a real blessing!

There are also accessories and small goods, so moms can do a little shopping for themselves too! (^O^)
The biggest highlight of all?
There’s a kids’ play area inside the store!

There’s a tiny playhouse for pretend play.

There are even ride-on toys, so moms can shop in peace while the kids play!

My son has started refusing to come along on clothes-shopping trips, so a kids’ play area like this is a true lifesaver!

There’s even a Bumbo seat for the littlest ones – perfect for visiting with babies!

Now that’s what I call a true children’s clothing specialist.
Every detail is designed with moms and kids in mind!

The staff are lovely – friendly and stylish themselves – and they kindly helped me pick out the perfect outfit!

I picked up something for my son! (Even the shop bag is adorable!)

Oversized long-sleeve T-shirt: ¥1,900 (excl. tax).

I went oversized hoping he can still wear it next year!
(My son grows so fast, he’s outgrowing things in the blink of an eye, lol.)

A long-sleeve T is a year-round staple – good for every season but summer!
You can never have too many!

The earthy color tones give it a grown-up, super-stylish vibe! (Posing like a pro! lol)

If you want your kids dressed in something a little different – something stylish and adorable that you won’t see on every other child – this is the place!
