Today I’m taking you to NikoNiko Garden, located in Tsukure, Kikuyo Town, Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture — a fantastic indoor playground tucked inside the new Carino Kikuyo shopping complex (which recently took over the former Sunlea Kikuyo site).

NikoNiko Garden is an indoor children’s play area inside Carino Kikuyo, with a game arcade conveniently located right next door — perfect for keeping the whole family entertained!

Honestly, I usually skip these kinds of facilities thinking, “They’re always so expensive!” — but check out these prices:
Weekday all-day pass: 500 yen
Weekend & holiday all-day pass: 800 yen
Wait, that’s actually a steal!
Adults pay just 200 yen any day of the week — incredibly reasonable.

This is exactly the kind of wallet-friendly spot families dream of finding!

You buy your ticket at the vending machine before entering.
It happened to be raining the day we visited — which made this place even more of a lifesaver.
Finding good places to entertain kids on rainy days can be tough, especially when you’re traveling!

Toward the back you’ll find several Japanese-style tatami seating areas where parents can relax comfortably.
Please note: outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the play area.

Trash cans and lockers are available, and best of all, the lockers are free to use — a small detail that makes a big difference!

There are also kids’ chairs and bouncers available — a real blessing if you’re traveling with little ones.

Massage chairs are available for 100 yen, so while the kids are happily playing, mom and dad can take a well-deserved break and recharge.

The restrooms are right next to the facility, and staff will give you a re-entry ticket so you can pop out to use them.
The re-entry ticket also works if you want to step out for a meal — making it super easy to come and go as you please. Such a thoughtful touch!

Why NikoNiko Garden Is a Hidden Gem

Here’s a peek inside the play area.

Kids can tinkle the keys on a piano…

…or bounce around to their heart’s content on the inflatable play equipment!

There’s a big slide too — a huge crowd-pleaser that had kids climbing up and sliding down on repeat.

My little man took plenty of turns himself.

You’ll also find a ball pit, springy animal ride-ons, and even a cyber wheel kids can climb inside and roll around in. The variety is seriously impressive!

Every piece of equipment is designed with safety in mind, so parents can relax and enjoy watching the fun.

The biggest hit for my son? This ride-on slide — he zipped down it over and over again.
Honestly, it looked so fun I wanted a turn myself!

There are toy cars, a play kitchen and house, plus oversized soft building blocks at the back of the room.

My 4-year-old jumped right into chef mode at the play kitchen.
When I said, “Mommy’s hungry — can you make me something?”

…he served up a special hot pot loaded with mushrooms, broccoli, and… a slice of cake! Looks delicious, kid.

And here’s a fruit-themed seesaw!

With reasonable pricing and tons of variety to keep little ones engaged, NikoNiko Garden is a fantastic stop. Adults can comfortably take a load off too — making it a win-win for the whole family.
