About the Park

Hello there!
This is Asukarando, your Sarukuma writer.

Today I’m taking you to
Yamato, Ueki-machi, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture
the home of “Volleyball Park”!

The name ‘Volleyball Park’ definitely makes you curious!
It’s a friendly neighborhood park tucked next to a supermarket and residential area (^-^)

The park is divided into two zones: a playground area with equipment, and an open space at the back where kids can play with balls.

It’s called ‘Volleyball Park’, but there’s a basketball goal!!

Plus there are swings (^-^)/

And horizontal bars (^-^)/

There’s a sandbox too, so bring your sandbox toys (⌒0⌒)／~~

You’ll find covered benches as well as plenty of seating scattered around the park.

What Makes This Park Special

I’m not sure what this spinning piece of equipment is called…
but it was a huge hit with the kids ☆

There’s a decently tall slide, and the kids climbed and slid
over and over again, never getting bored!

There’s also play equipment like this. You can climb across the top (^-^)
or hang from below (^-^)

And there are little ride-on toys for younger children too (^-^)/
The snail and turtle shapes are just too cute (^-^)

In the mornings, you’ll mostly see toddlers playing,
while afternoons bring out groups of elementary school kids.
My super-sociable son ended up joining them for a game of tag — they kindly let him play along!
