About the Facility
Hello! I’m Asukarando, a Sarukuma writer.
Today I’m introducing
Okura, Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture, home to
“Tamana Observatory”.
This is Tamana Observatory, with a sweeping panoramic view over the entire city of Tamana (^-^)
To reach the parking lot, head straight through Momota Sports Park and you’ll spot it.
The entrance is just a short walk from the parking lot.
There are stairs, but a ramp is also available β so it’s stroller-friendly too (^-^)/
You’ll also find tables and benches β perfect for a quick break (^-^)
A small hill?
Look closely β it’s actually an ancient burial mound (kofun)!
Restrooms are conveniently located near the parking lot.
Vending machines are right next door at Kanakuri Memorial Plaza.
Why You’ll Love It
TA-DA!!!!!
A striking modern concrete structure rising right out of the natural landscape!
From the top, the entire city of Tamana spreads out before you (^-^)/
The observatory is built as a series of staircases, so watch your step as you climb (>_<)
If the steps tire you out, there are stone seats along the way for a breather!
Along the way, we discovered a tiny room that feels like a secret hideout!
Kids will absolutely love exploring this spot οΌΌ(^o^)οΌ
Voices echo inside, creating a wonderfully mysterious atmosphere!
From this angle, even the staircase looks surprisingly stylish!
The observatory has three levels, and once you reach the top, the view opens up even wider (β0β)οΌ~~
Come visit Tamana Observatory and see for yourself! (β0β)οΌ~~
