Introducing Hanabata Park

Hello! It’s Asukarando, a writer for SaruKuma.

Today we’re heading to Hanabata-cho, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City to visit
Hanabata Park.

This lovely park sits right across from SAKURAMACHI Kumamoto! Many of you may already know it, but after a beautiful refurbishment it feels brand new — so we thought it was the perfect time to introduce it again (*^^*)

There are plenty of coin-operated parking lots in the surrounding area (^-^)
There’s also a ramp, so you can roll a stroller right in — super handy for families (*^^*)

There’s a big set of stairs, but on the opposite side from the parking (the streetcar side), you’ll find another ramp too (*^^*)

Vending machines are located on the parking-lot side of Hanabata Park (^^)v
With SAKURAMACHI Kumamoto right across the street, you’ll never run out of food or drink options ☆

What Makes Hanabata Park Special

Towering trees offer plenty of cool shade, perfect for a relaxing afternoon (*^^*)

There are benches and covered rest areas too, which is really reassuring when you’re out with kids. Other visitors were using the benches when I stopped by, so I didn’t get a close-up shot, but they’re stylish and extra-wide! Wide enough for a lunch break, a quick nap, or even a photoshoot backdrop (^o^)/

I’d love to grab a fancy takeout lunch and dig in right here on these benches (^^)v

A peaceful, forest-like park tucked right inside the city.

The park is accessible from any side, making it a great destination if you’re traveling around with kids using public transportation ☆
