About Shimizu Nireki Nishi Park

Hello travelers! This is Asukarando, writer for [Sarukuma].

Today I’m introducing a wonderful spot located in Aso, Kita-ku, Kumamoto City
[Shimizu Nireki Nishi Park].

I discovered this surprisingly large park tucked away in a peaceful residential neighborhood, and I just had to share it with you!

Here’s the entrance to Shimizu Nireki Nishi Park.
It has both stairs and a ramp, so strollers can enter without any trouble (^^)
There are two entrances facing the road for easy access.

The hand-washing station is conveniently located in the center of the park.

The toilet is a traditional Japanese-style squat toilet, but it was kept very clean (^^)

There are also covered benches with a roof for shade (^-^)v

You’ll find benches scattered throughout Shimizu Nireki Nishi Park — perfect for taking a break.

Why You’ll Love Shimizu Nireki Nishi Park

Even though it’s nestled in a residential area, this park is incredibly spacious!!!
Check out this huge grassy lawn area (^3^)/

There’s also a smaller secondary lawn area (^^)

The first thing that catches your eye is this fun-looking playground equipment (^3^)/

There’s even a mini bouldering wall shaped like dinosaur fossils — how cool is that? (^^)

There are also spring-mounted ride-on toys that even toddlers can enjoy (^^)

Of course, there are swings too (*^.^*)

A little side note…

My daughter recently graduated from the baby swing to the regular swing, and she’s even learned to pump her legs and swing on her own. But… can you spot it in the photo? Yes, that was the exact moment she fell off! (>_<)
