Today I’m excited to introduce a wonderful cat café located in Tatsuda, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City:
【Nyanko Chaya Nyandamari】
My son loves spending time with animals, so I went searching for a place where he could interact with cats — and discovered this lovely cat café in northern Kumamoto! The atmosphere was incredibly warm and welcoming, so I just had to share it with you.
The shop sits along the old Route 57.
I followed Google Maps to reach the café.
As you get close, you’ll spot the “Nyanko Chaya Nyandamari” sign — a reassuring landmark!
The entrance is on the left side of the building.
Just ring the intercom at the door and the staff will welcome you in.
There’s parking for 4–5 cars in front of and beside the café.
Children are welcome too!
There are a few important rules to follow, so please check them before visiting.
Also, please remember to wear socks inside the café.

● Closed: Wednesdays and Thursdays
● Opening Hours: 11:00–19:30 (last entry 18:55)
● Entry Fee (includes one drink)
Adults: 45 minutes / 440 yen
Children: 45 minutes / 220 yen (elementary school age and below; preschoolers free)
※ Extension: 110 yen per 15 minutes for both adults and children.
Honestly, the prices are amazing!
They’re currently in pre-opening, so these are special pre-opening prices.
※ The photo lists Thursday as the closed day, but the café is actually closed on both Wednesdays and Thursdays.

You’ll get to interact with the most adorable cats imaginable! ♪
When you step inside Nyanko Chaya Nyandamari, you’ll find cats lounging in every corner.
The interior features handmade catwalks running throughout the space.
It’s truly a cat paradise designed with feline comfort in mind.
Venture further inside and you’ll find a tiny “cat whisker shrine” — a charming little touch.
Some sections of the catwalk have glass floors, allowing you to view the cats from below.

The catwalks are coated with natural materials like persimmon tannin paint, creating a cat-friendly environment.
There are feeding areas and litter boxes inside, so you can see the cats relaxing just like they would at home.
Stretching out on a chair — looking blissfully comfortable. Watching them lounge is therapy in itself.
Toys for playing with the cats are available, and you’re free to use them.

The cats really chase the toys — so much fun! ♪

Cat treats are also available for purchase, so you can give them little snacks! ♪
They come right up to you! ♪
So many adorable kitties gather around — my son was absolutely thrilled!
At Nyanko Chaya Nyandamari, both adults and children get one drink included with admission.
You can choose your favorite bottled drink.
Feel free to grab it whenever you’d like.
There’s also a monitor inside that can play videos of cats giving birth.
It’s a touching way to learn about the preciousness of life.
If you’d like to watch, just let the staff know.
Some of the cats are rescues from the local animal welfare center.
The café helps these rescued cats become comfortable around people and connects them with new families through their adoption program.
The owner is also a Maine Coon breeder.
