Welcome to Outdoor Field Nonnemu
Hello, travelers! This is Asukarando, a writer for SaruKuma.
Today I’m excited to introduce Outdoor Field Nonnemu, a magical retreat tucked away in Kawachi-machi, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City.
【Outdoor Field Nonnemu】
I had been planning and rebooking this trip for ages, but rain kept getting in the way. Finally, the weather cooperated and I made it to Nonnemu — so whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or more of an indoor type, this guide has something for you! (*^.^*)
This is the entrance leading down to Outdoor Field Nonnemu. (^^)
Just past the curve in the photo, you’ll find the parking area.
This is the day camp (BBQ) area for visitors.
Suddenly appearing in the middle of the mountains — an adorable little cottage! (*^.^*)
Each cabin can be rented out for overnight stays. (^^)
Overnight guests can park right next to their accommodation.
And here’s the second cabin! (*^.^*)
This one has a pink exterior, making it even more charming and storybook-like!
The cabins have bedrooms and full air conditioning and heating, so they’re comfortable any time of year. (^-^)v
Step inside and you’ll feel like you’ve walked straight into the pages of a European fairytale!
Every room is so whimsical that even adults can’t help but feel excited!
The restroom is near the entrance, and even it has been lovingly handcrafted!
What’s truly impressive is that every single building here was made by hand. (>.<)y-~
There’s even another cabin currently under construction — I can’t wait to see how it turns out!
Here are the available booking plans —
※ Kuku House refers to the pink cabin in the photo.
※ Gnome House refers to the cabin with the green roof.
A friendly chicken family also lives here, and they’re so used to visitors that kids can come close without any problem.
There’s a friendly goat hanging around too!
Why Outdoor Field Nonnemu Stands Out

And just look at this view!
Even on this slightly cloudy day, the panorama was breathtaking.
Trees provide plenty of shade, and swaying gently in the hammock as the breeze passed through was pure bliss.
As night falls, the lights come on and the atmosphere becomes even more enchanting. (^^)
We chose the evening session to catch the sunset, and the views shifted by the second — it’s absolutely magical!
I’m not exaggerating — the sky truly transforms second by second, and getting to share that beauty with everyone made for an unforgettable moment.
We even ended the night with handheld fireworks! (^-^)v
Outdoor Field Nonnemu offers something for everyone — adults and kids alike. With its gorgeous scenery and storybook charm, it’s a place I wholeheartedly recommend whether you’re staying overnight or just dropping by for a day camp.
Go make some unforgettable memories! \(^_^)(^_^)/
