Welcome to Patisserie Aichiro
Hello there!
I’m Binako, a writer for SaruKuma — and yes, my son is a die-hard Showa-era Kamen Rider fan!
His current favorite is Kamen Rider Amazon, by the way.
Today I’m excited to introduce you to a charming little sweets shop tucked away in Hetami, Mifune Town, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture —
“Patisserie Aichiro.”

Hidden inside a quiet residential neighborhood, the shop is set behind the owner’s home — a true neighborhood gem.
Convenient parking is available right out front.
Since the shop shares the owner’s home, you’ll spot a friendly signboard on the fence pointing the way.
Walk a little further in and you’ll find banners and tables welcoming you to the shop.
On our visit, whole cakes were so heavily reserved
that there were none left to photograph!
The good news? Sliced cake sales are scheduled to resume in February, displayed in the showcase right at the entrance as you walk in.
Must-Try Treats at Patisserie Aichiro

Alongside the Western-style cakes, this patisserie also crafts traditional Japanese sweets — including the irresistible dorayaki (with both white bean and red bean filling)!
Each dorayaki proudly features Mifune Town’s beloved mascot —
“Funemaru-kun”
officially licensed and stamped right onto the pancake. So adorable!
After much deliberation on where to slice…
Right down the middle!
The pancake is delightfully fluffy and moist, paired with a subtly sweet bean paste that’s so well-balanced you could keep eating forever.
Next up — the white bean Funemaru-kun dorayaki.
It’s so cute, you’ll hesitate to slice into it!
Right down the middle, again!
The white bean filling is rich and moist with a gentle sweetness — easy on the palate and absolutely delicious.
And here’s one of Aichiro’s signature character cakes —
the Kamen Rider No. 1 Cake!
The craftsmanship is jaw-dropping.
Vivid, beautifully arranged colors that you simply can’t take your eyes off of.
And the taste? Not too sweet — perfectly balanced, so you might just polish off a whole cake by yourself!
The kids couldn’t get enough either ♪
Whether it’s the Western pastries or the Japanese sweets, Aichiro’s creations have a flavor that truly appeals to all ages — kids, parents, and grandparents alike!
If you’re traveling through Kumamoto, this is a hidden gem you absolutely have to try!
