Introducing Kurudo (喰堂)

Today I’m taking you to
“Kurudo (喰堂)”,
located in Shimoide, Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Greenland amusement park is right behind it! ♪
Look at all those banners advertising the ¥1,000 lunch with 10 different options to choose from ☆

Wait — curry and mapo tofu too?
And a motsu nabe (offal hot pot) set?

Let’s step inside and see!

It looks so stylish — I got pretty excited! (Just me?)
Two adults and one toddler used the room and there was plenty of space!

You can even see roller coasters from the window!
(We ended up heading to Greenland right after, lol)

There’s a popularity ranking on the tablet, which is so helpful for indecisive folks like me ☆

This time we got the Sashimi & Tempura Set Meal and…

…the Hinomoto Premium Pork Loin Katsu Set.
Total: ¥2,200 (tax included).

Both the fish and the meat are absolutely delicious! 😋

The tempura comes with white fish and TWO whole shrimp!
Even the chawanmushi (savory egg custard) is loaded with shrimp, chikuwa fish cake, kikurage mushrooms, and shiso leaves!

For ¥1,000, this is incredible value ☆ (And it tastes amazing!)

Free rice refills mean you can easily share with your child ☆
Plus, you get squid shiokara, mentaiko (spicy pollock roe), and takana pickles on the side — perfect rice companions that’ll keep you coming back for more!
There are two types of dressing for the cabbage that comes with the tonkatsu.
This place really seems to highlight yuzu kosho (citrus-pepper paste).

They have a great takeout selection too!

Apparently their bento boxes are so popular that lines form to grab them! (゚Д゚)

Actually, right next door there’s a sister restaurant called “Kurudo Sonosaki” — it’s a continuation of the same place!
(They serve the same menu.)

It has a refined, upscale atmosphere (^^♪

It would be perfect for memorial services, celebrations, or family gatherings (^^)/

The lighting and sunlight streaming through the windows are just lovely…!

This room has horigotatsu-style sunken seating too.

They also have high chairs for kids.
