Introducing Burger’s Club Veronica [Kumamoto]

It’s Binako, your SaruKuma writer — currently nursing a sore foot but still on the hunt for great eats!

Today I’m taking you to a brand-new burger joint tucked away in the countryside of Nodede, Kawachi-machi, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City:
“Burger’s Club Veronica [Kumamoto]”.

This charming burger shop opened on April 4th. The name “Veronica” has a nice ring to it — it instantly reminds me of one of my favorite J-rock songs by Aqua Timez!

There’s parking right next to the shop, so getting here by car is a breeze. When I visited, the place was buzzing with neighborhood kids and locals stopping by for a bite.

You’ll find tables and chairs outside, so feel free to grab your burger and enjoy it on the spot — no need to take it to go.

What makes Veronica special? They use locally raised Kyokushi beef, grilled over volcanic stone from Mt. Aso — a true celebration of Kumamoto ingredients.

I couldn’t help but snap a photo of the adorable samurai-themed wet wipes at the counter. Such a cute little detail!

Here’s a peek at the menu:
・Veronica Burger — 650 yen (introductory price)
・Samurai Teriyaki Burger — 750 yen

You can also customize your burger with a variety of toppings.
(Note: the introductory-price Veronica Burger is not eligible for toppings.)

The side menu is just as generous, which makes it a great spot for families with kids.
Drinks range from the classics to tomato juice and non-alcoholic options.

For the Shaka Shaka Potato (380 yen), you get to shake your fries with as much of your chosen flavor seasoning as you like.
The boy in front of me in line was told by the friendly owner,
“Go ahead, sprinkle on as much as you want! ♪”
Such a kind and warm-hearted owner — it really set the tone for the visit.

I went with the Veronica Burger (650 yen), paired with a refreshing tomato juice.

I thought I was just ordering a burger, but to my surprise, fries came included!
Talk about a steal.

The owner and staff were warm, chatty, and full of energy — the kind of welcome that makes you feel like a regular on your first visit.

The Veronica Burger is seriously hefty — and the buns are something else.

These buns are unbelievably soft and pillowy, with a moist, tender bite that pairs beautifully with the crisp lettuce and the bright, juicy tomato.

And the patty? Bursting with juices that just keep flowing.

“I want to drink up every last drop” — that’s the feeling.
Someone, hand me a straw!

“Wait — is a burger actually a beverage?”
It completely flips everything you thought you knew about burgers.

The beef is, quite literally, melt-in-your-mouth tender.

Even the fries are next-level — packed with savory flavor that goes way beyond just salt. I was honestly tempted to lick my fingers clean.

If you find yourself in Nishi-ku, this place is an absolute must-visit. I’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone exploring Kumamoto. Go give it a try!
