Welcome to Miami
Hello, travelers!
It’s Igaguri, your SaruKuma writer 🌰
Today I’m taking you to “Miami,” a beloved local spot tucked away in Kameko, Tamana City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Oh? It looks like the signboard has been refreshed!
Since 1960, Miami has been serving up classic Western dishes and café fare as one of Tamana’s most well-loved retro cafés.
You’ll find parking right out front,

right next door,

and a second lot just a bit further back (tandem-style parking) — plenty of space for visitors!

Miami stays open from 11:00 to 22:00, but please note that during café time (15:00–17:00), only drinks and desserts are served — no meals.

Inside, you’ll find both counter seating and table seating.

Acrylic dividers are in place, and despite its long history, the dining room feels remarkably clean and well cared for — the perfect spot to slow down and savor a relaxed meal.
Must-Try Dishes at Miami

The lunch menu features daily specials, pasta, and pizza lunch plates,

plus steak and hamburg lunch plates.

This time, I went with the eggplant & bacon tomato sauce pasta lunch plate (made with fresh noodles) for 1,330 yen, and

the Australian fillet steak lunch plate for 1,950 yen!
Wow — gorgeous presentation! Totally Instagram-worthy!

Fresh pasta noodles — beautifully chewy and absolutely delicious! (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))

The steak is cooked to perfection — incredibly tender and packed with flavor! (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))
And those crisp lettuce leaves soaked in steak juices and sauce? Absolute heaven (⋈◍>◡<◍)。✧♡

Don’t miss the parfaits, either!
I visited during strawberry season, but in summer they roll out mango and peach parfaits as well 🤤

Here’s a little insider tip: Miami also has a garden terrace for group bookings, though it’s not officially advertised (^^♪
(They told us, “Please feel free to mention it on SaruKuma!” lol)

The interior decor changes with the seasons, making it a lovely, stylish space to enjoy throughout the year — and it’s especially refreshing in the warmer months (((o(*゚▽゚*)o)))
Here’s another exciting update: you can now choose enzyme-fermented brown rice (kouso genmai) as a healthy alternative to white rice with your meal!
The enzyme brown rice from “Kouso Genmai Tamana Laboratory” is genuinely delicious — definitely worth trying!
You can also enjoy it at Book Café Reliure, which we’ve featured before (^^)/
