Welcome to The New Hotel Kumamoto Fontana

Hello, travelers!
This is Binako, your Sarukuma writer, and today I have a sweet treat to share with you.

Today’s spotlight is on “The New Hotel Kumamoto Fontana,” located in Kasuga, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City.

I was invited to attend their special “Sweets Buffet Fair,” a limited-time event held in June.

The event runs for just 8 days on these dates: [15th, 16th, 20th, 22nd, 23rd, 27th, 29th, and 30th]!
Reservations ready! Appetite ready! Come hungry and prepared!

The restaurant is on the first floor of “The New Hotel Kumamoto.”
Note: There is no on-site parking, so please use one of the nearby paid parking lots.

Walk through the entrance, head toward the back-left, and you’ll find “Restaurant Fontana.”
Hand sanitizer and temperature checks are in place at the entrance for everyone’s peace of mind.

Inside, there are plenty of table seats with acrylic dividers installed for safe, comfortable dining.

Venture deeper into the restaurant, and you’ll find seating areas with a different, equally inviting vibe.

Children’s chairs are ready and waiting,

and small plates and cups are also provided. The thoughtful touches for families with children make this a fantastic spot to bring the whole family.

Now, prepare to be tempted!

A dazzling array of sweets is laid out before you, and even the way they’re displayed is stylish and elegant.

Black sesame panna cotta, fruit cocktail jelly, and more β€” beautifully arranged on tiered displays.

Muscat grape jelly and melon mousse await you here.

The buffet is brimming with creative new desserts featuring fresh seasonal fruits.

In the front, you’ll spot a salted caramel mousse with an addictively bittersweet flavor.
Kids and adults alike will be hooked after just one bite.

There’s also a luxurious mango dessert.

Topped with pineapple for a refreshing zing, the rich, creamy mango flavor is absolutely heavenly.

Adorable, Instagram-worthy treats that will charm anyone with a sweet tooth.

A must-try for everyone.

Get ready to be wowed by the chocolate fountain!
Dip bananas, marshmallows, and waffles to your heart’s content.

This is dessert AFTER dessert!
Coat your treats however you like β€” drizzle, swirl, or fully submerge!

Soft drinks and coffee are also available.
A truly indulgent, blissful experience awaits.

Must-Try Items at The New Hotel Kumamoto Fontana

Pile your plate high β€” no judgment here!

The ultimate plate for sweet lovers is complete.
And the best part? It’s a 90-minute all-you-can-eat.
With a generous hour and a half, there’s plenty of time to savor every bite without rushing!

One bite of the fruit cocktail jelly and…
your mouth is treated to a parade of fruit flavors all at once!

I could enjoy this cocktail every single night. (Don’t worry, no alcohol involved!)

The black sesame pudding is the absolute winner.

The aromatic depth of black sesame paired with a smooth, refreshing texture.
You could honestly eat one after another!

Next up: the mango tart.
With a layer of chocolate inside, the balance of sweetness and richness is just right.

The crust is so beautifully crisp that I dropped a piece while admiring it!

Our editor was momentarily heartbroken.

But one bite later, the smile came back at lightning speed.
Sweets really do bring out the best smiles!

Pairing pretty desserts with my (rather unrefined) self may seem mismatched, but here’s my best “heart eyes” pose for you!

The heart-shaped topping is a meringue-like cookie that melts away on your tongue.
With every bite, I felt my inner sweet-loving self awakening.

“Onward to the next!” β€” straight to the chocolate fountain!
I made myself a chocolate-covered banana.

Mmm β€” absolutely delicious!

Banana and chocolate? An unbeatable combination, every single time!

Speaking of bananas, the banana muffin here is also a winner β€”
rich in flavor with a beautifully moist texture.

The natural, not-too-sweet taste fills your mouth with comfort.

There’s simply too much to share about Fontana’s incredible sweets buffet β€” you’ll have to taste it yourself!

Families with children are warmly welcomed, so come and savor every blissful moment!
