Introducing Yoshinaga Farm Produce Processing Shop “Oyatsuya”

Hello there!
I’m Binako, a writer for Sarukuma,
and I’m about to whip up some shiso juice after this!

Today I’m introducing a wonderful little spot located in
Tsuboi, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Oyatsuya”.

It just opened on July 17th!

The owner of Oyatsuya is the younger sister of the family running “Yoshinaga Farm”.
Using a corner of the farm and produce harvested from her own fields,
she sells handmade takoyaki crafted with farm-fresh vegetables and herbs.

You can park your car right next to the shop.
Since it’s in town, getting here by car is super convenient!

Step inside and you’ll find shelves lined with fresh vegetables,
sweet vinegar pickles, burdock root tea, and other delights.

There are real photos of the farm on display, so it’s fun to picture
where each vegetable came from as you browse the shelves.

The fridge next to the shelves stocks items like basil pesto (680 yen)
and moringa leaves simmered in soy sauce (430 yen).

Moringa is famously known as a “superfood” packed with all kinds of nutrients.
It’s a plant I’ve personally been curious about for a long time!

Fresh moringa leaves are also sold (150 yen), perfect if you’d like to cook with them at home.

Across from the shelves you’ll find table seating,
ideal for taking a little break ♪

Recommended Menu Items at Oyatsuya

The menu is also displayed in the shop,
but it’s being updated, so this is what’s currently available.

The variety is impressive — takoyaki, toppings, and side dishes!

One thing I just have to shout a big “thank you” for is this:
Kids’ & Seniors’ Special — 3 Takoyaki for 150 yen

Just the right portion as a snack for little ones,
and easy enough for older folks to enjoy too.

It’s such a nice feeling when the whole family can share the same meal!

There’s also a “Today’s Recommendation” board right by the entrance,
so if you can’t decide, take a peek at this for inspiration!

This time, I ordered:
・Takoyaki with Sauce (400 yen)
・Minestrone Soup (250 yen)

The minestrone is available either chilled or hot — your choice!

First up, the takoyaki — classic style, with sauce.

Each ball is generously sized, with bonito flakes dancing on top.

I tried to take a photo showing the octopus inside,
but I got carried away and ate it whole — octopus and all!

The octopus inside is big and chewy — total happiness in every bite.
That perfect balance of crispy outside and gooey inside is just incredible.

And the sauce — oh, the sauce is so good…

And here’s the minestrone.
This one is the “with moringa” version I mentioned earlier.

Loaded with vegetables, every bite has a wonderful texture and great flavor.
The gentle balance of tang and sweetness made it impossible to stop!

This single bowl feels like all the umami and nutrition
have been concentrated into one delicious cup.

If you call ahead to reserve,
you won’t have to wait — quick and easy checkout!

Be sure to drop by and try it for yourself!
