2021.08.16

A Sarukuma writer visits BEAR PARADE in Konoha, Gyokuto Town, Tamana District, and shares the full scoop. Prices start from 580 yen. We’ve also rounded up family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.
Introducing BEAR PARADE
Hello, travelers!
With the humidity turning my hair into a wild creature of its own,
it’s me, Binako, your Sarukuma writer!
Today I’m taking you to
Konoha, Gyokuto Town, Tamana District, Kumamoto Prefecture,
to a delightful little spot called BEAR PARADE.

Nearby, you’ll also find Yume Station Konoha and Plat Gyokuto β perfect for a longer outing in the area.

Parking is conveniently located right in front of the shop.
Fun fact: BEAR PARADE is the sister shop of Marche Latin, the famous maritozzo bakery in Sakuramachi, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City.

Just 10 minutes after opening, on the first day back from the Obon holidays…
despite heavy rain, look at this line! That’s how popular this place is!
If you arrive before opening time, you’ll likely be able to step inside without much of a wait.

And finally β inside the long-awaited shop!
The wood-toned interior is wonderfully stylish and warm.
It instantly reminded me of the cozy charm of a teddy bear’s woodland cottage.

Many of the bagel sandwiches had already sold out, but lucky us β a freshly made batch of Beef Kimchi Sandwiches (580 yen) appeared just as we arrived.
The label cheerfully proclaimed “Kimchi never lets you down!!” β you can really feel the love and trust this shop has for kimchi.

The croissant maritozzo had also sold out, but the strawberry croissant maritozzo looked absolutely stunning.
Right beside it, you’ll spot the signature maritozzo familiar from Marche Latin.

And the showcase? Lined with brilliant, jewel-like desserts.
Vibrant fresh-fruit jellies that are as gorgeous to look at as they are to eat.

You’ll also find friendly notes about visit etiquette and per-person purchase limits posted around the shop.
BEAR PARADE β Recommended Menu Picks

This time, I tried:
γ»Tandoori Chicken Sandwich (500 yen)
γ»Shine Muscat Fresh-Fruit Jelly (550 yen)
The moment I opened the bag, an irresistibly spicy aroma filled the air.
The chicken was unbelievably juicy and tender, paired with crisp, fresh vegetables that added the perfect crunch.
The spicy notes balanced beautifully with sweet-and-tangy flavors,
making each bite more crave-worthy than the last.

Generous chunks of luxurious Shine Muscat grapes β and lots of them!

The jelly melts smoothly on the tongue, while the muscats hold their juicy presence.
A gentle, refreshing sweetness that’s a perfect pick-me-up on a humid day.

BEAR PARADE is wildly popular and sells out daily β so we highly recommend arriving early to avoid disappointment!
