Today I’m taking you to Tetorihoncho in Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City, to visit
BREADAY — a bakery I’d been dreaming about for ages.

Tucked away on the second floor of HAB@, BREADAY had been on my must-visit list for a while. I finally made it — and I have to share the experience with you!

Here’s the entrance from the Shimotori shopping arcade side!

The elevator is just inside the entrance — easy to spot.

Once you step out on the second floor, head all the way to the back.

The space feels less like a bakery and more like a chic Japanese cafe — perfect for Instagram-worthy travel photos.
The aisles are wide enough for strollers, so families with little ones can browse comfortably.

A beautiful lineup of unique, artisan-style breads greets you at BREADAY.

And in the very same room, the bakers are hard at work shaping and baking fresh loaves all day long.
As you pick out your bread, you can literally smell the next batch baking just behind you — pure happiness for any bread lover!

Mentai French Bread (spicy cod roe baguette) — 300 yen

Multigrain Bread — 320 yen

Sunflower Seed Loaf — 490 yen

Packed with sunflower seeds, the staff recommend slicing this one up for sandwiches!

The crust looks irresistible, and that hidden keema (minced meat) curry filling sounds amazing!

There’s also a cozy eat-in space if you want to enjoy your bread on the spot!

Sitting in this stylish space, watching Kumamoto’s famous streetcars rumble past — pure travel bliss!

Prosciutto, cream cheese, AND garlic — possibly the dream combination on bread!

Look at that generous layer of cream cheese — it pairs beautifully with the bread!

Next up — the famous Shio Pan (salt butter roll).

Those tiny salt crystals on top had me hooked before I even took a bite!

It looks unassuming, but the moment I picked it up, I was surprised by how incredibly soft and fluffy it was — and that warm, melty butter that floods your mouth with the first bite is unforgettable.

The Guacamole Sandwich is BREADAY’s #2 best-seller!

I used to be hesitant about hard-crust breads, but the perfect chewiness here, paired with the natural sweetness of the wheat, completely won me over.

The fillings are perfectly balanced too — I’d happily order this one again and again!
