Today I’m introducing a restaurant located in Ueki-machi, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City — “Restaurant Camellia”.

Let me show you around “Camellia,” a long-established family restaurant in Ueki-machi!

Camellia’s exterior is charming and inviting — the kind of place you can’t help but want to step into (^o^)/

The menu at Camellia is incredibly extensive!!

Signature Omurice Gratin — ¥850

Stew Hamburg & Shrimp Pilaf Set — ¥1,280

At such a friendly price, there’s even a deluxe “adult lunch” option (^-^)v

And the classic teishoku (set meals) (^-^)

Katsutoji (egg-bound pork cutlet) & Udon — ¥880

Tentoji (egg-bound tempura) & Udon — ¥880

Diced Steak & Udon — ¥1,100

They also serve the famously delicious kamameshi (rice steamed in a small iron pot) (^o^)/

Takeout is also available, making it a great stop on your way home from shopping (^-^)v

Inside, Camellia has wide windows that give the dining room a wonderfully open, airy feel (*^^*)

Children’s chairs are available too (^-^)v

There are tatami zashiki rooms with partitions that turn them into private spaces. Even with a baby in tow, you can lay them down comfortably and enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace (^o^)/

A luxurious set with kamameshi and steak as the dual stars (^o^)/

Chawanmushi (savory steamed egg custard) is included too!

Time to lift the kamameshi lid~ (*^^*)

The colors are gorgeous and a delicious aroma fills the air (^-^)v

The rice is wonderfully chewy, and once you start eating it with all the toppings, you simply can’t stop coming back for more＼(^o^)／

The steak arrives sizzling on a hot iron plate, sound and all!

Just looking at it makes you hungry…

Incredibly tender! And oh-so juicy!!
