Introducing Angelina

Today I’m excited to introduce you to Angelina, a delightful cake shop located in Ueki Town, Kita Ward, Kumamoto City.

Although the shop closed its doors a few years ago, it has happily reopened in a building at the back of the same property. I couldn’t wait to visit again after all this time!

Longtime locals will remember that the original ‘Angelina’ used to stand right here at the front.
The nostalgic atmosphere remains beautifully preserved. I have so many fond memories of opening this door for birthdays and celebrations.

There’s a flyer letting visitors know that ‘Angelina’ is now open at the back of the property!

The signature ‘Angelina’ logo with its sweet little angel wings is exactly as I remembered it~ (*^.^*)

The new shop feels a bit smaller than before, but the cute and cozy atmosphere is just as charming as ever.

The display case is filled with a colorful selection of beautiful cakes (*^.^*)

Despite being topped with plenty of fresh fruit and adorable little cream puffs, the price is wonderfully reasonable!

If you’re lucky, you might also find ‘cake offcuts’ for sale!
These are the trimmed edges from making roll cakes, sold at a special discount — perfect for taking home and enjoying without the formality~ (^3^)/

They also offer a selection of baked sweets, which make wonderful gifts and souvenirs.

Since the shop is on the same property as before, the parking lot is still spacious and easy to use — great for visitors driving in.

When it comes to Angelina, this is the must-try!!

I treated myself to the iconic Cheese Tarte (^o^)/

I also picked up the owner’s namesake creation,

Maruyama Choux

And of course, the kid-favorite Fresh Chocolate Cake, topped with a mini cream puff and rich chocolate ganache!

First up, the long-awaited Cheese Tarte~ (*^.^*)

The moist, soft cheese filling melts beautifully in your mouth with a wonderfully creamy texture.

Next, the Maruyama Choux!

The perfectly round choux pastry has a delightfully crisp top, while the underside is soft and tender like a classic cream puff.

The cream inside is silky smooth, with a refreshing, lightly sweet flavor that isn’t overpowering (*^.^*)

And finally, the Fresh Chocolate Cake!!

Topped with rich ganache and a tiny cream puff, this is a cake that kids absolutely adore!
