Today I’m thrilled to introduce you to a hidden local gem in Obiyama, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City β [Mayomido]!

Have you ever heard of Peanut Bon?
I moved to Kumamoto 10 years ago, and the shop I worked at back then used to stock these treats!
From the very first bite, I was completely hooked on Peanut Bon!
Sadly, that shop closed down, and I hadn’t been able to get my hands on Peanut Bon ever since. But recently, I discovered there’s a direct retail store β and I rushed straight over!
Yesss! Finally!

What an adorable banner! And yes β nuts are great for your health!
There are 2 parking spots right in front of the shop.

It’s not just Peanut Bon here β the shop also offers a wonderful variety of nuts and dried fruits!
And get this!

Mix-and-match 3 packs for just Β₯1,080! What a steal!
While I was there, another customer was already grabbing a 3-pack set!

The star of the show β Peanut Bon β comes in 4 delicious flavors!
Plain, Brown Sugar, Ginger, and Chocolate β Β₯302 each.

Mayomido’s Recommended Menu

This time, I picked up Peanut Bon (Plain) for Β₯302 and
Orangette for Β₯300!

Wow β they look absolutely irresistible!
The moment you open the bag, the rich, toasty aroma hits you. It’s incredible!
The texture is something else β the caramel-coated candy and crunchy peanuts give you that perfect crispy, snappy bite!
I devoured 2 sticks in seconds!
Seriously, this stuff is dangerous!
If no one stops you, you’ll polish off the whole bag (haha)!
Next up, the Orangette.
The aroma of bitter chocolate is absolutely heavenly!
The bitterness of the orange peel pairs perfectly with the sweet chocolate β pure bliss!
That said, the candied orange has a nice chewy bite, so you can’t quite scarf it down as fast!
Maybe a smart pick if you’re watching what you eat!
