those pesky eyelid wrinkles!

Today I’m excited to introduce you to
“Cheesecake no Berge”,
a charming little spot located in Naganeminami, Higashi-ku, Kumamoto City.

The shop sits right along the road,
so it’s easy to drive past without noticing —
but if you’re a cheesecake lover,
you absolutely MUST visit!

There’s parking for about 2 cars right in front of the shop.

Inside, you’ll find books and picture books,
so families with kids can enjoy their sweets in a relaxed atmosphere ^^

Even better, the second-hand books are also for sale,
so if you happen to find a favorite,
you can take it home with you!

The cheesecakes here are made completely flour-free,
so they’re gentle on your body while delivering a rich, deep cheese flavor.

See? This is heaven
for any cheesecake lover!

Their takeout menu includes:
Caldera Cheesecake — 12cm — 1,650 yen
Coffee-Flavored Cheesecake — 12cm — 1,800 yen
Cup Cheesecake — 330 yen
(Pumpkin / Sweet Potato)
These make perfect souvenirs to take back home ^^

You can also take home some of their special sauces.

And here’s the best part — every sauce is handmade by the shop owner,
crafted specifically to pair with their cheesecakes.
These sauces are made with so much love and care, they’re truly amazing!

I noticed photos showing creative ways to enjoy the cheesecake —
salt and black pepper on cheesecake?!

What in the world is going on here…?

This time, I dined in and ordered the
Cheesecake Set — 850 yen

For the drink, I went with coffee, but you can also choose
Cheese Orange Juice or Cheese Mango Juice — how unique is that?

Just look at that moist, creamy texture —
you can practically taste the deliciousness through the screen!

This is exactly my kind of cheesecake.
Fun fact: I’ve been a cheesecake lover since childhood!

Itadakimasu (let’s eat)…

Ohhhhh my!

It melts in your mouth!

Not too sweet, with that rich cheese flavor spreading across your palate —
one bite and I was completely hooked!!!

I also got the flavor variety set, so I’m definitely going to try them all.
All handmade, of course.
Isn’t that incredible? There’s no way this set could be anything but delicious!

When you add the cheese foam,
WHAT IS THIS?! The flavor explodes!

It goes way beyond just “delicious.”

Cheese on cheese — it’s a flavor explosion in your mouth!

Next, I tried mixing matcha with the cheese foam.

The matcha flavor really comes through,
transforming it into a more grown-up taste!

It also makes the cheesecake feel lighter and more refreshing — absolutely delicious!!

Next up: cheese foam topped with cinnamon.

The cinnamon aroma really stands out,
giving the cheesecake a wonderful spicy twist!
Who knew flavor variations on cheesecake could feel this luxurious?!

And by the way, this cinnamon is also handmade.
Pure genius.
Whoever came up with these cheesecake flavor combinations
is a culinary mastermind. Thank you for this experience!

Next, I tried it with a sprinkle of salt.

OHHHHH MY GOODNESS!!!
It was so good I couldn’t stop telling the staff how amazing it tasted! lol

This flavor combination was absolutely my favorite.
The cheese foam is so good on its own,
I ended up just mixing salt and cheese foam together the whole time! lol

Black pepper was another surprising winner!
It pairs amazingly well with cheesecake!

It doesn’t overpower at all — instead, it complements the cheesecake beautifully!

I also got to sample the coffee-flavored cheesecake,
and let me tell you — it was outstanding.

It has a slight bitterness, but it’s mild enough that even kids can enjoy it,
and even people who don’t like coffee can savor it.

Seriously,
how is everything here SO delicious?!
This cheesecake is flawless — pure deliciousness from start to finish!

The shop staff were also incredibly friendly,
sharing stories and explaining everything to me.
It really feels like a cozy little hideaway — a place to unwind.

Plus, free Wi-Fi is available inside,
so the internet connection is excellent.

This playful, ridiculously delicious cheesecake shop
is an absolute must-visit for anyone traveling through Kumamoto!
