A Sarukuma writer visits “Oguni Service Area Fusha” in Miyahara, Oguni Town, Aso District, and shares a firsthand report. Prices start from 300 yen. We also cover family-friendly tips, access, and opening hours.
Hello, fellow travelers!
I’m Binako, a writer for Sarukuma, and today I’m craving something sweet (well, usually spicy β but today, ice cream wins!).
The spot I’m introducing is located in Miyahara, Oguni Town, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture, and it’s called “Oguni Service Area Fusha”.

The restaurant has a wonderfully nostalgic, retro Japanese roadside-diner vibe. ^^
Ice cream orders are placed inside the shop.

Outside the shop, you’ll even spot a certain yellow electric mouse character standing guard (haha)!

The parking lot is right in front of and next to the shop, making it super convenient for road trippers. (^^βͺ
Inside, you’ll find table seating where you can enjoy a full lunch β perfect for a relaxing break during your Aso drive. (^^βͺ

They also sell take-home ice cream, which makes a lovely souvenir to bring back from your Kumamoto trip!
Recommended Menu

There are three ice cream sizes to choose from:
Single β 300 yen
Double β 380 yen
Mini Triple-Flavor β 350 yen
Honestly, the value here blew me away!

With a whopping 14 flavors to choose from, indecisive me had a serious dilemma!

Every single flavor looked delicious β I stared into the display case so hard I’m surprised I didn’t burn a hole through it. I genuinely wanted to try them allβ¦

After much agonizing, I went with the Mini Triple-Flavor for 350 yen!
Three flavors in one cone β pure happiness!

I picked chocolate, black sesame, and cream cheese. (*Β΄Πο½)
Ohhhh yes!
It looked amazing β three flavors at once feels so luxurious β and all for just 350 yen. Unbeatable value.

The chocolate was light yet flavorful, with a rich, lingering aftertaste that kept me reaching for another bite!
My cream cheese photo unfortunately came out blurry, so no picture this timeβ¦ but it was creamy and rich while still feeling refreshing β kind of like an elevated vanilla with a tangy twist. (*Β΄Οο½*)

The black sesame was bold and fragrant β that nutty aroma lingered beautifully even after each bite. So good!
Overall, the ice cream was light and easy to eat, yet still wonderfully rich and indulgent. (*Β΄Οο½*) A truly memorable treat.
If you’re driving through Aso, definitely make a stop here β you won’t regret it!
