Hello travelers, this is Maru, your SaruKuma writer🙂🙃
Today I’m taking you to
Shabu-yo Kamisuizenji, located in Kamisuizenji, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City—
a beloved all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu spot.
But this place isn’t just about shabu-shabu—
there’s so much more to enjoy!😋😋😋

This time we visited for dinner at my child’s request.

The restaurant sits along the East Bypass road, right at the Kamisuizenji intersection.
It’s beautifully lit up at night, making it easy to spot.

Seating is on comfortable sofas, and they offer booster seats for children.
Note: strollers cannot be brought inside.
Children’s tableware is available, so families can dine with peace of mind.
The restroom also has a diaper-changing table.
The lunch menu was posted, so here’s a quick rundown…
🍀 The no-time-limit lunch menu (until 16:00) starts at 1,199 yen for adults (+100 yen on weekends/holidays)
☆ Prices vary depending on the type of meat selected.
🍀 There’s also a 60-minute all-you-can-eat lunch course featuring Sangenton premium pork shabu-shabu—just 999 yen for adults (+100 yen on weekends/holidays)!
The buffet includes shabu-shabu, fresh vegetables, curry, udon, and desserts (sushi is not included at lunch).
Best of all, kids are just 599 yen, and children under 3 eat free—a huge plus for families with little ones!🤗
Lunch here is unbeatable value!🐷

Now, on to dinner🌙*.。★*゚
🍀 Dinner starts at 1,599 yen for adults (+100 yen on weekends/holidays)
Prices vary by meat selection.
The buffet of shabu-shabu, vegetables, curry, udon, and desserts is the same as lunch, but…
at dinner, you also get all-you-can-eat sushi😍
★ Note: dinner has a 100-minute time limit throughout the evening.

This time we went with the No.1 most popular🍀
2 kinds of beef + Sangenton pork + sushi all-you-can-eat course!🐮🐷
Adults 2,099 yen (+100 yen on weekends/holidays)
Elementary school children 999 yen (+100 yen on weekends/holidays)
Kids 599 yen (drink bar included)
Under 3 free
Each table has a tablet for ordering, so you can choose your course and request meat right from your seat—super convenient for international visitors too.
The all-you-can-eat beef, beef short rib, pork loin, pork belly, shio-koji marinated chicken, and tsukune (chicken meatballs) arrive promptly after ordering✨

Sushi is also brought to your table on demand—11 varieties in total.
Once you’ve ordered, you can also visit the buffet station yourself for salads and hot-pot vegetables🥬
Masks are required when not at your table, and disposable gloves must be worn when handling tongs at the buffet area😷
There’s a wide variety of dipping sauces—you can even create your own original blend😋
Plenty of condiments to choose from, too.
The meat arrives at the table—5 to 6 generous slices per plate🐮🐷
Here’s the best part—you can enjoy two different broths in one split pot!😉
The front side in the photo is shiro-dashi (white broth) for traditional shabu-shabu.
For the other side, you can choose from 6 different broths, including tonkotsu-style, chicken-bone soy sauce, and yuzu-salt dashi.
(For an extra 100 yen, you can pick two specialty broths.)
Our family went with the authentic sukiyaki broth😋🍲✨
I honestly spent most of the meal happily dipping meat in the sukiyaki side!
The tabletop electric stove is safe for families with kids, and the heat is easy to control.
The meat is incredible!!
With sukiyaki, each person also gets a raw egg for traditional dipping.
The tsukune (chicken meatballs) were a huge hit!!
We ordered round after round.

To finish, we had udon and ramen✨
There was also kids’ favorite curry, plus seasonal bamboo-shoot rice on this visit.
Must-Try Menu Items
The shabu-shabu is excellent, of course, but
the real highlight is the make-your-own desserts😋😋😋
First up: fresh-baked waffles★
It’s so easy!!
Just pour the batter and wait 2 minutes—done!
The shape might be a bit rustic, but it comes out warm and fluffy from the iron (o^∀^o)
Top it with a generous swirl of soft-serve ice cream🍦
Check out my daughter’s chocolate waffle creation!

And yes—you can even spin your own cotton candy!😍
Round and round it goes!!

Behold—a rockabilly-pompadour-style cotton candy creation!😁
You can also make shaved ice yourself.
Whether you’re a kid or just a kid at heart, making your own dessert is pure fun.
Hot pot season is here—gather the whole family and let’s go shabu-shabu!
Let’s Shabu-yo🍀🍀
