About the Bakery
Hello there, travelers!
This is Binako, your friendly Sarukuma writer, ready to share another delicious Kumamoto discovery!
Today I’m taking you to Egashira, Ogawa-machi, Uki City, Kumamoto Prefecture, to visit “Milky Stone Oven Bakery (Ishigama Pan no Milky)”.

They also operate a mobile bread truck, so you may have spotted them around town! ♪
There’s parking right in front of the shop and…
…additional spaces right next to the building, so you can pull up with plenty of room to spare. ^^
Inside, the shelves are loaded with all kinds of bread!
With so many tempting options, deciding what to buy is the hardest part.
Stone Oven Cheese Fondue Bread — 220 yen
Stone Oven Melon Pan — 150 yen
This Japanese sweet bun is generously sized and looks absolutely irresistible!
I got to peek inside the stone oven, too.
The flames roar to life with intense heat — it’s seriously impressive.
The sheer power of it had me completely hyped up!
And here are the melon pan baking inside.
Don’t they look amazing?!

You’ll find a great selection of sandwiches, too!
They’re absolutely overflowing with fillings — irresistible!
Plus an enormous lineup of sweet pastries to choose from!
Wait… is that…
Fresh Scones (170 yen)?!
These look incredibly delicious!
While I was still trying to decide, my eyes landed on the
cake display case.
Wait — they have cakes too?!
They even offer whole cakes, perfect for birthdays and special occasions.
And on top of all that — there’s complimentary self-serve drinks and consommé soup.
Such a wonderfully generous bakery — I was completely won over!
There’s also an eat-in space inside, so you can take your time and enjoy a leisurely lunch. (*´Д`)
Helpful tip: before you walk in, check the chalkboard outside — it lists the scheduled baking times for each type of bread!
Recommended Menu Items

Today, I picked up a
Chocolate Cornet — 150 yen
My kids love these, so it was an instant buy!
Packed top to bottom and side to side with rich chocolate — my son was completely thrilled!
He’s usually a slow eater, but he polished this one off in seconds. Haha!
Next, I had to try the
Fresh Cranberry Scone — 170 yen
that had caught my eye earlier!
Look at those beautiful two layers!
Time to break it apart and dig in!
The dough is wonderfully moist and
the gentle sweetness of cranberry is absolutely delicious.
The tartness gives it a sophisticated, grown-up flavor — perfect with tea or coffee!
I also tried the
Brown Rice Salt Bread — 110 yen
The aroma alone hints at how delicious it’s going to be!
The fragrant, hearty dough paired with
the nutty accent of black sesame is just perfect,
and the salt strikes such a beautiful balance — I could honestly eat this forever.
And here’s another wonderful touch:
every single bread item has its calories, fat, and carb info clearly listed,
making this bakery a great choice for anyone watching their diet.
