About the Shop

Hello, fellow travelers!

This is Binako, your SaruKuma writer reporting in once again!

Today, I’m excited to introduce you to Pianta Patisserie (Yogashi Kobo Pianta), a charming sweets shop located in Kajiya, Kamoto-machi, Yamaga City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

This place holds a special spot in my heart — I have countless childhood memories of coming here for sweet treats. Now that I’m the one bringing my own kids, it really makes you appreciate how quickly time flies!

The shop has a cozy eat-in corner, and at checkout you can simply choose whether you’d like to dine in or take your treats to go.

You’ll find children’s chairs and comfortable sofa seating available too.

There’s even a nursing room in the back and a diaper-changing station inside the shop, making it a wonderfully welcoming spot for visitors traveling with little ones.

The scoop ice cream comes in a wonderful variety of flavors — though I have to admit, I’m not quite sure why my photo turned out so blurry!

This time, I went with the Double Scoop Ice Cream for ¥380.

I chose chocolate and chestnut as my two flavors.

The chestnut flavor is mellow, smooth, and absolutely divine. It’s like tasting autumn in every bite — the kind of ice cream you’ll crave even on a chilly day.
You can still feel little bits of real chestnut, which adds such a luxurious touch.

The chocolate is rich beyond rich — bursting with deep, full-bodied cacao flavor.
It’s beautifully balanced — not overly sweet, with a sophisticated grown-up taste that both kids and adults will happily polish off down to the last spoonful.

Pianta’s rich, creamy ice cream is truly something special — make sure to drop by and try it for yourself!
