Introducing the Shiroyama Park Viewing Bench

Today I’m excited to share a hidden gem,
the “Shiroyama Park Viewing Bench,”
located in Waifu, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Perched dramatically on a hilltop cliff, this stylish bench offers breathtaking panoramic views!

Convenient parking is available right alongside the road.

A charming, atmospheric restroom sits directly across the road (^-^)

A handy hand-washing station is located right in the center of the park.

There are two small open areas in the park.
You’ll find more benches here too.

On the upper level there’s a stone monument, and for some reason my son enjoyed running circles around it~ (^-^)

Highlights & Recommendations

From the parking area, just head up these stairs (^-^)/
The steps are nice and shallow, so it looks like strollers should be fine too.

Once you reach the top, a cozy little plaza opens up before you!

“Okay, can you find the famous bench?”
I quizzed my son, and…

“Right here!” he proudly declared as he plopped down on this chair!

Well, it IS a bench, but…
Wrong answer!!!

My son looked a little disappointed about getting it wrong…

The lack of fences in front gives you that wide-open, unobstructed view, but
please be cautious if you’re visiting with children.
The road runs directly below.
