Bibliotheque.

If you’re a pancake lover, you’ve probably heard whispers about this legendary spot…

Conveniently located on the 1st floor of Tsuruya Department Store right in the heart of downtown Kumamoto, it’s super easy to access by public transport, with plenty of parking available too ♪

I caught wind on Instagram that they were running an all-you-can-eat pancake event, so I just had to check it out!!

What kind of sweet treats await? Let’s dive in with hearts full of anticipation ♡

Drinks include your choice of coffee (iced or hot) or tea (iced or hot) ◎

Even seasonal favorites like the Mont Blanc Pancake and
the Pumpkin Pancake are part of the all-you-can-eat lineup ♪

Outside the buffet menu, there’s also a great selection of savory dishes!!

First up, the October-only special I’d been dying to try:
the “Whole Pumpkin Pancake” ♪

The pancakes take about 20 minutes to cook fresh…

But while you wait, you can order quick-serve cakes and
ice creams from the buffet menu ♪

No wasted minutes — what a sweet deal (*’ω’*)

While waiting for my pancakes, the
“Two-Layer Mont Blanc Tart” arrived first![Outside Buffet Price] Base price: 850 yen

Whole chestnuts tucked inside a lightly sweetened marron mousse, layered with two kinds of cream…
With just a hint of rum, it’s a sophisticated, grown-up dessert.

Add a touch of the tangy berry sauce on the side
and it transforms into something fresh and vibrant ♪

Even the tart base is wonderfully crispy and flaky — every single bite is heavenly!!!

Just as I was floating in dessert bliss,
the star of the show — the “Whole Pumpkin Pancake” — finally arrived ♪

“Whoaaaaaa, I’ve been waiting for you!!!!!!”

Fluffy pancakes crowned with an entire pumpkin…

Isn’t this just delicious overload?!

Lift the lid and you’re greeted by ice cream, pumpkin mousse, and crème brûlée ♪

The pumpkin is delicately sweetened and pairs perfectly with the pancakes!!!

It was so good, I ended up eating the whole pumpkin shell too.

With perfect timing from the staff, just as I finished the pumpkin pancake,
my next order — the “Mont Blanc & Praline Cream Pancake with Caramel Sauce” — arrived ♪

The slightly bitter sauce comes on the side,
balancing out the sweetness of the Mont Blanc and pancakes,
so you can keep eating bite after delicious bite!

Generous chestnuts are scattered all around,
and the caramelized praline on top is fragrant
and sweet — absolutely divine ♪

Next up was Bibliotheque’s signature classic:
the “Berry & Cream Cheese Pancake”

One of the few permanent menu items, this pancake has a huge fan base.
Unlike the seasonal specials, this beauty comes with a tower of three thick, fluffy pancakes!!!!!

The tangy berry sauce on the side is the perfect match for
the cream cheese, ice cream, and whipped cream on top — a flavor combination made in heaven!!!

You’ll surely be hooked, just like I was ☆

The interior features spacious sofa seating,
and we saw plenty of guests with strollers and small children!

There are also tables for two — perfect for a couples’ date ♪

Sharing means you can sample more varieties of sweets,
so it’s also a wonderful treat-yourself lunch with friends ♪
