Hello, fellow travelers!
I’m Binako, a writer for SaruKuma!

Today, I’m excited to introduce you to a charming little bakery located in
Nishidera, Kikuchi City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“ReyMo Bakery” (パン焼き工房リーモ / ReyMo).

I’ve been curious about this bakery every time I drove past it,
so I’m thrilled to finally get the chance to visit!

The brick exterior is absolutely adorable and gives the place a cozy, European feel.

The signage is eye-catching and right by the road, so you won’t have any trouble finding it!

There are two outdoor tables where you can sit and enjoy your fresh bread —
perfect for a relaxing break during your Kumamoto road trip!

The cooler months are an especially lovely time to sit outside!

Here’s a wonderful surprise — buy any bread and enjoy a complimentary coffee!

Bread paired with hot coffee…
It’s the kind of cozy moment that calms both body and soul.

Inside, the shelves are lined with all kinds of tempting, freshly baked breads.

Chocolat Orange — 150 yen

Chocolate Cashew Nut — 180 yen

Uguisu Bean Stick (sweet green pea) — 150 yen

Honestly, these prices are unbelievable!

And the chocolate cashew nut bread has the most unusual shape —

I just can’t stop staring at it…

Why an S-shape?!

Retro Baguette — 200 yen

Baguette — 200 yen

The price of these baguettes is incredible — a real bargain!

And those fresh-out-of-the-oven signs make you smile every time!

And here’s the brand-new arrival: Japanese Chestnut Mont Blanc — 240 yen

The chestnuts are so generous and plump — this one’s guaranteed to be delicious!

Another highly recommended item:

Danish Loaf Bread — Half loaf 175 yen / Full loaf 350 yen

A half loaf is already a steal, but a whole loaf for just 350 yen? That’s a real lifesaver for any household.

They also offer sandwiches,
so if you’re craving veggies too, definitely give one a try!

Recommended Menu Items

This croissant comes highly recommended by the shop owner!

The bake and the rolling technique are absolutely flawless.

You can practically hear the crunch just by looking at it…

Next up: Baked-in Curry Bread — 150 yen

Baked right in!

Curry is delicious enough on its own, but baking it directly into the bread?
There’s no way I could resist!

Walnut and Fig Trifle — 240 yen

The #1 Bestseller — Apple and Black Tea Bread — 180 yen
This is the most popular bread in the shop! It’s an absolute must-buy!

I was so curious that I had to try the

Apple and Black Tea Bread — 180 yen

and oh my, what a treat!

Look at the size — all this for just 180 yen!

Since it was fresh from the oven, the staff thoughtfully left the bag open so the steam could escape!

Such a sweet little gesture — I had to snap a photo!

Oh wow…

It’s a flavor traffic jam in the best possible way!

I’m completely stopped in my tracks by deliciousness.

Hold on — this is just too good!

The dough has a delicate black tea aroma — soft, fluffy, and pillowy on the inside,
yet beautifully crisp and golden on the outside. The texture balance is pure perfection!

The apples are gently simmered to a tender sweetness,
and they pair so beautifully with the fragrant black tea dough.

Honestly, it’s so delicious I could easily devour a whole one in seconds…

I also tried the Baked-in Curry Bread — 150 yen!

The crispy surface and the clever name —
it’s just too good to be true!

Surprise! The curry bread has the same wonderfully chewy, soft dough!

The curry filling is rich and deeply flavorful, blending perfectly with the bread,
while the crispy crust adds the most satisfying crunch!

This is what “baked-in” really means!
Everything I tried was simply outstanding.

Affordable and absolutely delicious —
