Hello there!
It’s about time for me to head out and pick up my son.
This is Binako, your SaruKuma writer!

Lately, my little one has started saying he doesn’t want to go to daycare, which is giving me quite the headache… haha!

Today, I’d like to introduce you to a wonderful little bakery located in Nishikigaoka, Higashi Ward, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
“Dal Forno”.

It’s right next door to Kin no Yakitori, another spot we’ve featured on SaruKuma before!

Kin no Yakitori (Takeout-Only Shop): A Wide Menu of Delicious Yakitori to Enjoy at Home in Nishikigaoka, Higashi Ward, Kumamoto City

The exterior is so stylish and inviting that I couldn’t help but stop and stare as I drove by — it practically pulled me in! Haha.

Opening hours are:

Weekdays: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Weekends & Holidays: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Easy to remember!

I visited in the late afternoon, so the bread selection was a bit smaller than usual, but there were still plenty of mouth-watering options to choose from!

An assortment of breads are beautifully displayed across two tables.
Oh my, so many delicious choices — how am I supposed to decide?!

Shokupan (Japanese Milk Bread): ¥370
Baguette: ¥280
Yudane Shokupan: 1-loaf ¥280 / 2-loaf ¥540

were also available!

They also stock a great variety of olive oils, honey, and jams — perfect pairings for your bread!

Baked sweets are on offer too — ideal for satisfying those little hunger pangs throughout the day!

And here are the sandwiches!

Prosciutto Sandwich: ¥380
Duck Fillet Sandwich: ¥400

They even have cakes!

Matcha Gateau au Chocolat: ¥200
Homemade Gateau au Chocolat: ¥350

All scones are ¥180 each, and come in five tempting flavors:
Plain, Chocolate, Earl Grey,
Matcha & White Chocolate, and Coffee

I’m a huge scone fan, so I was tempted to buy them all!

Just look at this!
Cookie Bread!

These are cookies shaped just like little loaves of bread!
They’re so adorably mini and make wonderful gifts that always bring a smile.

There’s also a drink menu available!

If you order both bread and a drink, you can enjoy them in the cozy eat-in space.
They also serve lunch during midday hours, so be sure to time your visit for lunchtime — it’s a great option!

Recommended Menu Items

This time around, I picked up:

Mini Choco Cornet: ¥80
Scone: ¥180
Pizza: ¥240
Cookie Bread: ¥200

The Mini Choco Cornet is just the perfect size — it fits right in the palm of your hand!

I bought it because my son loves chocolate, and the moment he spotted it, he tore it open at the speed of light!

And just like that, it was gone!
I was scrambling to snap a photo before he devoured it — what a champ!

Next, I tried the Plain Scone.
Wonderfully moist and easy to eat — not a hint of dryness!

Since it’s plain, the sweetness is perfectly balanced, making it easy to enjoy several in a row!

And here’s the Matcha & White Chocolate scone!
It’s loaded with white chocolate, which beautifully complements the matcha flavor!
I found myself hunting for those white chocolate chunks with every bite!

Ahh — so delicious.

The pizza was generously topped with cheese,
and the chunky tomatoes added a refreshing touch,
making every bite light and easy to enjoy!
And the mushrooms — there were tons of them!

Everything was so delicious that I’m already planning my next visit!
I was honestly amazed at how quickly my son demolished that choco cornet.

Definitely going back. Haha!
