Today I’m excited to introduce you to
“ricca”, a delightful patisserie tucked away in Kataoda, Yamaga City, Kumamoto Prefecture.

The shop sits quietly in a residential neighborhood. Just follow the signs marked with P for parking, and you’ll arrive in no time.

You’ll spot a spacious gravel parking lot ahead.
It was buzzing with happy customers on the day of my visit!

There’s a generous customer-only parking area, so you won’t have to worry about finding a spot.

The entrance is framed by lush greenery, giving the storefront a wonderfully natural, fairytale-like charm. ♬

Toward the back of the shop, you’ll find a charming eat-in café space!!
Surrounded by sweets in a stylish interior — what a blissful way to spend an afternoon. ♪

There’s also a full drink menu!
You can choose from the cakes, breads, and gelato in the display case or order from the
café-exclusive menu.

Current seasonal café offerings include:
Fresh Peach Amazake Shaved Ice (¥1,500),
Matcha & Tofu Pudding Shaved Ice (¥1,380),
Gelato Trio Plate (¥1,100).

The shop was so popular on my visit that there was even a line — next time I’d love to enjoy the shaved ice or a slice of cake in the cozy café space! ♫

Gift Boxes come in six size and selection options labeled A through F,
priced from ¥1,900 to ¥4,990 — perfect for souvenirs!!

Takeout drinks include blended coffee, café latte, Darjeeling tea, Assam tea, ripe orange juice, and herbal honey lemonade — plenty of refreshing options to enjoy on the go.

This time, I went with the signature gelato.

The colors look similar, but on top is Rich Milk and below is Peach — a delicious double scoop!
The peach gelato bursts with the natural, intense flavor of real peaches — absolutely divine. ♪

The gelato was piled so high it spilled over the cone!!!

On top is Hazelnut and below is Chocolate!

The gelato has such a wonderfully rich, velvety texture —
both the hazelnut and chocolate were so amazing
I wanted to order seconds right away!!!!

Now I’m dreaming of trying the pistachio gelato and the artisan ice pops on my next visit. ♬
