Today, I’d like to introduce you to
a charming little spot in Ikutomi, Koshi City, Kumamoto Prefecture,
“Canadian Diner Maple Leaf”.

This cafe is conveniently located just a 7-8 minute drive from “Country Park,” which we featured in a previous article.

As you might have guessed, after a fun-filled adventure at Country Park,
we stopped by here for a relaxing lunch!

There’s a FamilyMart convenience store right next door,
so use that as your landmark!

Just spot the Canadian flag sign, and head right inside!

The interior has a wonderfully nostalgic atmosphere —
it just feels right!

Seating is table-style only, with options ranging from 2-person to 6-person tables.
However, due to current COVID-19 precautions,
they generally accept groups of 1-2 people
(or up to about 4 people if you’re from the same household)
at a time.

Due to the limited space inside, larger groups would make it difficult
to maintain social distancing.
The owner mentioned he’s hoping things settle down soon so they can lift these restrictions.

There’s also plenty of reading material on hand,
so you’ll never get bored while waiting for your food!

Daily Special with 5 side dishes — 900 yen
Beef Stroganoff — 900 yen
Chicken Curry — 900 yen
Omelet Stroganoff — 1,000 yen
Omelet Curry — 1,000 yen
Tomato Sauce Pasta — 950 yen
Genovese Pasta — 950 yen
Homemade Hamburger Steak — 1,100 yen
Cake Set — 650 yen
(Choose 2 cakes from the selection plus a drink!)

All lunches come with salad, soup, rice, a drink, and dessert!

So affordable, yet…

Drinks AND dessert included?! Amazing!

This time, I went with the Daily Special Lunch for 900 yen.

First came the chilled corn soup and salad!
You can choose between Japanese-style or Western-style salad dressing!

That cold corn soup was so refreshing after a hot day of playing,
and my son loved it so much
he gulped it all down in one go!

Next, the main dish arrived on a plate!
The oven-baked chicken was especially delicious!

It came with Japanese-style side dishes, which were perfect for sharing with kids.
And it even includes pasta — what a treat!

You can also choose between white rice or multigrain rice!

And here’s the cake for dessert!
You can pick 2 cakes from the selection, so we tried one of each!

A moist peach cake and a fluffy black tea cake!
Both absolutely delicious!

…Which means my son ate most of them!

The drinks arrived alongside the cake. You can choose from:

Coffee
Tea
Juice

Since it was such a hot day, I went with juice —
and they brought out fresh orange juice!

So, after seeing all that,
can you believe this entire spread is just 900 yen (tax included)?!

Especially for women — drinks AND dessert included?
At 900 yen, that’s an incredible deal! Thank you so much!

The owner and his wife kindly entertained my energetic son from time to time,
which let me actually enjoy my meal in peace!

They even offer 500-yen takeout bento boxes — what a steal!

It was such a relaxing, cozy space to unwind!
