๐Ÿ“Œ What you’ll learn from this article
A SaruKuma writer’s first-hand report on “Fujinokura” (Bokujo Choku-ei Yakiniku Fujinokura), a farm-direct yakiniku restaurant in Tsukure, Kikuyo Town. Prices start from just 290 yen, and we cover family-friendly perks, access, and opening hours.

Hello and welcome!
I’m Yutomino, a writer for SaruKuma.
I’m a mom to a 1-year-old, 9-month-old little boy and a 6-year-old kitty girl!

I’ll do my best to share Kumamoto’s hidden gems
in a way that’s easy to follow โ€” thanks for reading along!

Today I’m introducing
“Fujinokura” โ€” a farm-direct yakiniku restaurant
located in Tsukure, Kikuyo Town, Kumamoto Prefecture.

Look for the big signboard โ€” you can’t miss it!
The restaurant sits along the Kikuyo Bypass,
so head toward Ozu, take the side road just before the shop,
and turn left to enter the parking area.

The Menu

Here’s the lunch menu lineup:
Umadare Kalbi (Special Sauce Short Rib) Lunch โ€” 1,290 yen
Business Lunch โ€” 1,190 yen
Yakiniku Lunch โ€” 990 yen
Mixed Hormone (Offal) Lunch โ€” 890 yen

For just +300 yen, you can add the dessert & salad bar or the drink bar.
There’s even a Kids’ Salad Bar for 200 yen!
And free rice refills are a lovely bonus too!

There’s a kids’ menu too!
Kids’ Udon โ€” 290 yen
Kids’ Curry โ€” 390 yen

This time, our family ordered:
Basashi Hitsumabushi & Tosai Beef Set (my husband)
Umadare Kalbi Lunch (me)
Kids’ Udon (our little one).

First up was my husband’s
Basashi Hitsumabushi & Tosai Beef Set โ€” 1,990 yen
What a feast!

I recently moved to Kumamoto from the Kansai region โ€”
is basashi (raw horse meat sashimi) hitsumabushi really an everyday dish here?!
What a luxurious meal! (Note: basashi is a Kumamoto specialty.)

And get this โ€” this set even includes the salad & dessert bar!

Here are all the goodies my husband piled onto his plate from the salad bar.
(Clockwise from top right: sesame salad dressing, chikuzen-ni stewed vegetables,
stir-fried beef with garlic chives, potato salad, and fresh salad.)
That’s quite the volume!!
After the meal, he even enjoyed mixed fruit and yogurt with fruit sauce for dessert!

Next up was my Umadare Kalbi Lunch โ€” 1,290 yen!
It comes with rice (free refills), wakame seaweed soup, pickles, and salad.
(The salad & dessert bar is not included with this set โ€” it’s available for an extra fee.)

And here’s the Kids’ Udon โ€” 290 yen.

Now, as the title suggests, this place is super welcoming to little ones!
(That’s the touchscreen ordering panel above.)
Kids’ tableware is pretty common, but the scissors and paper aprons are such a thoughtful extra touch!

A friendly female staff member kindly brought us a kids’ chair right away.

And there’s even a kids’ play corner!
My son had so much fun that dragging him home was no easy task!

Seating options include semi-private horigotatsu (sunken kotatsu) tatami rooms and standard table seats.

There are also fully private rooms available โ€” perfect for moms’ gatherings!

Eating yakiniku with kids can sometimes feel like a survival mission,
but at Fujinokura, you can truly relax and enjoy the experience.

Takeout is available too!
