Introducing FuruFuru

Hello, this is Gachako, writer for [SaruKuma].

Today I’m introducing a delightful food truck that travels all across Kumamoto Prefecture
[FuruFuru].

The cheerful yellow exterior really stands out — it looks like it could have rolled straight out of a Pixar Cars movie!

The fruity energy is incredible. Just looking at it puts you in a great mood.

The display is so adorable too.
Even the owner’s accessories are fruit-themed — she was wearing earrings made from real lemons!

~Sparkling Soda Menu~
Lemon Squash…450 yen
Blue Peach Squash…450 yen
Green Apple Squash…350 yen

~Non-Carbonated Menu~
Peach Mix…450 yen
Pink Lemonade…450 yen

After much deliberation, I went with
the Pink Lemonade — a magical drink that changes color when you mix it!
It contains butterfly pea flower.
Butterfly pea is a flower commonly used in herbal teas, naturally a vivid blue color.
When this blue (anthocyanin pigment) meets the citric acid in lemon, the pH level changes and the drink turns pink.

“I’m about to finish it up — the color is going to change! Got your camera ready?”
Oh! Yes! I quickly readied my camera. Thank you so much, owner!

“Here we go~!”

The color shifts little by little.
So… so much fun!!
Apparently, anyone who orders this drink gets a live color-changing performance every time.

“All done! Make sure to mix it well before drinking.”
Wow! The color changed from blue-purple to red.
Time to dig in!

Once mixed, the color transformed again into a beautiful pink.
There was even a handwritten thank-you message on the cup.
Such a lovely thoughtful touch.

Thanks to the finely chopped lemon pulp and lemon syrup,
even on this very hot day, my whole body felt refreshed after drinking it!
This is a perfect drink for the hot season ahead.

The new “Temari” menu item also caught my eye.
Is it shaved ice? Or jelly? I’m intrigued!
