Introducing harvest COFFEE STORE
Hello, travelers! This is Gachako, a writer for [Sarukuma].
Today I’m excited to introduce a hidden gem located in Tsutsumi-no-shita, Yamaga City
harvest COFFEE STORE.
You’ll find it near the Yamada Denki Yamaga branch.
The building was originally a warehouse, now beautifully transformed.
This place looks especially atmospheric on rainy days — the moody vibe is simply irresistible.

Here’s a fun detail: harvest COFFEE STORE has no signboard at all.
Look for a small, understated “OPEN” sign at the lower right — that’s how you’ll know they’re welcoming guests.
There’s plenty of parking right in front of the shop — convenient for travelers driving through Kumamoto.
Step inside, and you’ll be greeted by a stunningly stylish interior.

A door labeled “Otayori” (“Letter”)… hmm?
It’s most likely the restroom, but I forgot to confirm — so be sure to check it out for yourself when you visit!
Toward the back, there’s a serene gallery space where time seems to slow down.

Here’s the harvest COFFEE STORE menu:
Hand-drip Coffee… HOT 450 yen, ICED 500 yen
Espresso… Single Shot 390 yen, Double 450 yen
Latte… from 500 yen (milk, soy milk, or oat milk)
Blended Herbal Tea… 350 yen
Desserts… from 150 yen

Desserts are picked from the daily showcase. On my visit, the selections included okara cookies from Soichi Tofu Shop and gateau chocolat from Hifumi Shokudo.
It’s wonderful to taste the connections this café shares with other beloved local shops nearby.
Recommended Menu Items at harvest COFFEE STORE

I ordered the HOT hand-drip coffee.
You can choose your beans from six different single-origin varieties.

If you can’t decide, you’re welcome to sniff each glass jar of beans, read the thoughtfully written tasting notes on the cards, or simply ask the owner for guidance.
I chose the Rwandan beans, which had the most fruity aroma — apparently, they’re a customer favorite!

“HOT brings out the aroma, while ICED highlights the sweetness,” the owner explained.
The carefully crafted hand-drip coffee had a beautifully fruity bouquet — a treat for all five senses.

The space is so refined that even a quick snapshot turns out incredibly aesthetic — perfect for your travel Instagram!
Now I understand why the shop doesn’t need a sign — its presence speaks for itself.

They also sell little cookies to enjoy with your coffee, plus a selection of coffee beans to take home.
If you’re traveling through Kumamoto, make sure to stop by this refined coffee gem, harvest COFFEE STORE — you won’t regret it!
