A Sarukuma writer visits “Ukishima Gori” in Ihori, Kashima Town, Kamimashiki District, and reports back on this exciting new shaved ice shop. Price guide: from 550 yen. Family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours all included.

Introducing Ukishima Gori

Hello travelers! I’m Aromanahito, a writer for [Sarukuma].

Today I’m excited to introduce you to a wonderful new spot in Ihori, Kashima Town, Kamimashiki District
[Ukishima Gori]!

I had the chance to visit during the PRE-OPEN on June 19th!
The Grand Opening is on Sunday, June 26th ๐Ÿ’›

The shop is located on the way to Ukishima Shrine. As you drive along, you’ll pass the Ukishima Waterside Park โ€” keep going just a little further!

Continue straight along this road until you reach an intersection, where you’ll spot a sign pointing right to Ukishima Shrine!

Turn right here, then immediately enter to your right.

From this point, cars cannot enter, so please park at one of the nearby lots and continue on foot (*^-^*)

Walk along the path just before the Ukishima Shrine visitor parking lot โ™ช
You can also access it through the park, so either route works perfectly.

As you walk, you’ll spot the shop on your right (*^-^*) My excitement is bubbling over ๐Ÿ’›

Here we are at the shop!

It’s bustling with customers (*^-^*) Time for me to join the fun!

Recommended Menu at Ukishima Gori

You place your order right here.

Now, what to choose? I always struggle with the decision!
The kids are equally curious, asking “What flavors do they have?”

Here’s the menu!

Wow! The Ukishima Gori menu is full of innovative new concepts!

Here’s why โœจ
The “gori” (shaved ice) and syrup are priced separately (Gori 550 yen + syrup from 150 yen)

Just like ramen has “kaedama” (extra noodles), here you can order “kae-gori” โ€” extra shaved ice ( *ยด่‰ธ๏ฝ€)
The gori itself is fluffy and gently flavored with milk
Since the ice is already flavored, you can even enjoy it without any syrup!

Completely additive-free syrups
Even the container has evolved โ€” it’s served in a bento box โœจ!

For example:

(Example) Strawberry Gori โ†’ Gori (550 yen) + Domestic Strawberry Syrup (200 yen) = 750 yen
If you want seconds ๐Ÿ’›
(Example) Kae-gori extra ice (300 yen) + another syrup, OR use leftover syrup = from 300 yen โ™ช

A pre-opening exclusive strawberry-base gori was also available ๐Ÿ’›

With the kids urging “I want to eat now!”, I went with Normal Gori + Nagano Purple Grape
The kids stuck with their all-time favorite: Normal Gori + Domestic Strawberry.

The ice cascades down like fluffy falling snowflakes ๐ŸŽต

“Wow ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ’› it looks delicious ๐ŸŽต”

Let’s dig in (*^-^*)

My Normal Gori + Nagano Purple Grape has arrived ๐ŸŽต

The logo sticker is so cute too (โ‹ˆโ—๏ผžโ—ก๏ผœโ—)ใ€‚โœงโ™ก

Pouring the syrup over slowly~ ๐Ÿ’›

“Itadakimasu ๐Ÿ’›” (Let’s eat!)

“Mmm (โ—ยดฯ‰๏ฝ€โ—) so delicious ๐Ÿ˜‹”
Rather than crunchy ice, it has a melt-in-your-mouth powder snow texture โœจ

The fluffy, gentle gori with its subtle sweet-tart flavor goes down so easily.
Even the base gori on its own has a soft, comforting hint of milk ๐Ÿ’›

And here’s the Gori + Domestic Strawberry
โ€” sweet like fresh strawberries with delightful little fruit chunks pairing perfectly with the gori. The kids devoured it in seconds!

“Can I have another?” they asked ๐Ÿ’›
Ah, this is exactly when the “kae-gori” extra ice comes in handy (*^-^*)

Once it officially opens, I’d love to try the matcha and mango flavors too!

They also plan to introduce weekday-only specials and temperature-based seasonal menus in the future.

Be sure to check it out โ€” I can’t wait to see how this place continues to evolve ๐Ÿ’›

Don’t miss the Grand Opening on Sunday, June 26th (*^-^*)

This summer, Ukishima Soba is also opening up โ€” definitely another spot to keep on your radar ๐ŸŽต

With the park and Ukishima Shrine nearby, this is a perfect place where both kids and adults can relax and enjoy the day. Be sure to visit!
