Introducing Milk Cream

Hello, this is Gussan, writer for Saru-Kuma.
Today, I’m excited to introduce Milk Cream (Mirukuriimu),
a charming little soft serve shop located in Futa, Nishihara Village, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture.

This delightful soft serve shop opened its doors on July 16, 2022.
Just a stone’s throw away, you’ll also find Yosuga Pan, another lovely bakery that opened in the same month.

“What is this?!” — the kind of quirky scene that makes you want to snap a photo and share it instantly!
Milk Cream is tucked between a beauty salon and a barbershop — quite the unique location.
There’s a spacious gravel parking lot right out front, making it easy to stop by.
Soft serve is priced at 380 yen.
You can choose between a cone or a cup.
Toppings like caramel, salted caramel, or chocolate are available for an additional 50 yen.
The menu also features:
★ Nuts & Soft Serve
Pistachio Caramel — 480 yen
Almond Chocolate — 480 yen
★ Cafe Drinks
Iced Coffee — 300 yen
Hot Coffee — 250 yen
Coffee Float — 450 yen
and more.
On the day of our visit, there was a limited-time Blueberry Soft Serve available for 480 yen.

Milk Cream’s Recommended Menu

This time, my kids picked one cup and one cone to share between them.
The cone is a delightful waffle cone (a personal favorite!), and the cup comes with a charming wooden spoon.

Photographing soft serve is always a race against time!
I managed to snap this shot in one take, but the moment I handed it to my child:
“Mom! It’s dripping everywhere!”
“My hands! My clothes!” — chaos erupted in the back seat. Ha!
With the help of my friend in the passenger seat, we passed back wet wipes and plastic bags,
turning the whole experience into a lively and memorable moment.

And here’s the Coffee Float.
Milk Cream’s soft serve has the rich, natural flavor of fresh milk — incredibly creamy and milky in the best way possible.
Both my kids and I absolutely loved it.

Located right along Nishihara Village’s main road, it’s the perfect pit stop on your way to or from the Mt. Aso area.
