Introducing Avec Amour

Hello travelers! This is Mofumofu, a writer for [SaruKuma], here to share another local gem with you.

Today’s spotlight shines on Sunagawa, Matsubase Town, where you’ll find
[Avec Amour] — a charming little shop tucked into a quiet residential neighborhood.

This delightful spot opened its doors on August 21, 2022!

Discovering this adorable shop nestled in a residential area was such a treat. If I lived nearby, I’d be a daily visitor for sure!

Parking is available on the gravel lot right next door — super convenient for visitors driving in.

Even though it had only just opened, regulars were already popping in asking, ‘Do you have XX today?’ It was so heartwarming to see how quickly this place became beloved by the community.

There’s a table set up beside the shop where you can enjoy your treats right on the spot.
(Yes, real chairs included!)

Takoyaki Menu — 500 yen per pack

Sauce Takoyaki, Salt Takoyaki, Soy Sauce Takoyaki, Cheese Yaki, and the special ‘Takoyaki’ (a play on the Japanese word for happiness)

Add green onions as a topping for just 20 yen extra!

I got to snap a photo of the takoyaki being cooked — pure magic!
Having worked at a takoyaki shop myself during my student days, I can tell you: this owner is incredibly skilled at the art of takoyaki!

The owner is also lovely and so kind — just chatting with her felt soothing. No wonder she’s already built up a loyal following!

Some sweets sell out by mid-morning on busy days, so we recommend either pre-ordering or arriving right when they open!

Avec Amour Recommended Menu

I started off with piping-hot Sauce Takoyaki, an Iced Tea, and a Homemade Lemonade.

Pro tip for the lemonade: there’s real lemon pulp at the bottom, so give it a good stir before sipping!

Crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth gooey on the inside — these takoyaki are simply addictive! They disappeared from my plate in no time.

Next visit, I’m definitely trying the Salt Takoyaki!

Now, on to the dessert course!

Soy Milk Pudding
Silky smooth on the palate with a gentle soy milk flavor that lingers beautifully. It comes with kuromitsu (Japanese black sugar syrup) on the side! I recommend trying it plain first to savor the soy milk taste, then drizzling on the syrup for a delicious flavor twist.

Chocolate Mousse
Light, fluffy, and incredibly creamy! It’s wonderfully rich — a true paradise for any chocolate lover.

Even my child was happily devouring every bite!
