Welcome to SPOON

Hello, travelers! This is Mofumofu 🐈, writer for [SaruKuma].

Today I’m thrilled to introduce a delightful little gem located in Joyamashimodai, Nishi-ku, Kumamoto City
[SPOON] 🍮✨

I’ve been dying to visit this shop forever! As a self-confessed pudding lover, I finally — FINALLY — made it here 🚗✨

What a stylish little spot it is!

I was so excited that I forgot to snap a photo of the parking lot, but there’s space for about 5–6 cars right in front of the shop!

Step inside and your eyes will sparkle at the sight of beautifully lined-up puddings and panna cottas!
They sell out quickly, so I highly recommend calling ahead to reserve.

[Retro Pudding] ¥350
A simple, nostalgic flavor with that classic firm texture. Perfect for fans of traditional Japanese-style pudding!

Letting it rest for a day (eating it the next day) makes it even denser and firmer 🤤

[Custard Pudding] ¥350
Rich with fresh cream and incredibly smooth on the palate.

Silky, melt-in-your-mouth texture with a sweeter caramel — kids will love it ♪

[Panna Cotta] ¥350
Choose from three sauces: strawberry, mixed berry, or mango!

And there’s more…

[Retro Pudding Shake / Custard Pudding Shake] ¥500

[Ice Pudding] (frozen pudding) ¥350

It wasn’t on the menu, but they also serve coffee ☕

There’s also a seating area in the back of the shop, perfect for enjoying your treats on a sunny day ✨

SPOON Recommended Menu

Behold these glorious puddings! 🍮✨

From left: Custard Pudding and Retro Pudding ♪

Aren’t they just colorful, adorable, and totally drool-worthy 🤤💕

From left: Mixed Berry, Strawberry, and Mango.

Yes! Pudding-loving Mofumofu 🐈 bought every single flavor (lol).
The packaging is also adorable, making these the perfect souvenir gift ✨

I decided to savor the puddings slowly at home, so I started with the [Retro Pudding Shake] 🍮💕
To put it mildly: ‘WOW! AMAZING!!!’

Highly recommended! I’ll definitely be coming back ☆☆

Once home, it was finally pudding time ♪

Since I’d already had the Retro Pudding shake and wanted to let the other rest a day, I dug into the [Custard Pudding] 🍮
‘Mmm… pure happiness ♡♡’

Incredibly smooth, sweet but never cloying! After this, no other pudding compares.

By the way, there’s a recommended order for eating these two puddings!

① Retro Pudding first ② then Custard Pudding

Because the Custard Pudding is sweeter, eating it first might make the Retro Pudding feel underwhelming 🙄

Next up, the [Panna Cotta (Mango)] ♪

The lightly sweet panna cotta pairs beautifully with the refreshing mango sauce!

The strawberry and mixed berry options are loaded with chunky fruit pieces ☆
The gently sweet panna cotta and tangy-sweet sauces are a match made in heaven!

And finally…
Hot coffee and ice pudding ♡ (Am I eating too much? lol)

The owner kindly treated me to so much. Thank you so very much!

The Ice Pudding is best enjoyed about 20 minutes after taking it out ☆

Slightly crunchy, slightly icy — same delicious flavor with a totally different texture, and absolutely scrumptious!
And the coffee? Smooth with very little bitterness, pairing perfectly with the pudding!

Ahh, what pure bliss 🤭💕

Sorry for getting so passionate — I just love pudding too much!

[SPOON] also has a park nearby, so kids will be over the moon enjoying delicious pudding and then heading out to play!

You could also grab a pudding shake to go and enjoy a scenic drive 🚗✨

You’ll definitely want to come back! Be sure to visit [SPOON] when you’re in Kumamoto ♪
