A friend recommended this izakaya as being perfect for families with children, so I had to check it out — and I’m so glad I did! It exceeded all my expectations.

Convenient parking is available right in front of Ichie Houon Ueki Azami, with an additional second parking lot located across the street.

Step inside and you’ll find a welcoming counter seating area — perfect for solo travelers or couples wanting a more intimate dining experience.

Ichie Houon Ueki Azami offers numerous private rooms with horigotatsu-style sunken floor seating (a traditional Japanese seating style with a recessed floor under the table) — a fantastic feature for families with little ones!

There are also spacious tables that can accommodate larger groups — ideal for traveling parties or family gatherings.

The complimentary appetizer (tsukidashi) was a delicious dashimaki tamago in savory sauce — what a delightful start to the meal!

For one of Ichie Houon Ueki Azami’s signature dishes,
I ordered the Straw-Grilled Camembert Cheese from their warayaki menu.

The straw-grilling technique imparts an irresistibly aromatic, smoky fragrance, while the inside stays beautifully melted and gooey. Absolutely divine!

Another must-try specialty at Ichie Houon Ueki Azami:

Fried Tomato in Dashi (Tomato no Agedashi) — 680 yen

The piping hot tomato has an incredibly tender, sweet interior, while the crispy coating soaks up the gentle dashi broth. One bite and you’ll be hooked — I couldn’t stop eating it!

Beef Short Rib Teppan — 1,280 yen

From the moment it arrives at your table, the mouthwatering aroma and sizzling sound of the iron plate are simply impossible to resist!

We tried so many other dishes too, and every single one was outstanding. My only regret? Not discovering this place sooner!
