Introducing Kuroishi Garden
Hello travelers! I’m Sunny, a writer for [Sarukuma].
Today I’m excited to introduce a massive playground in Kuroishi, Koshi City
where you can play, eat, and laugh — [Kuroishi Garden].

You’ll find it right next to [Oyabu Dairy Farm], which we featured before.
[Oyabu Dairy Farm] An Award-Winning Dairy Farm Right Here in Koshi! (Suya, Koshi City)
The huge grounds hide a secret base just for kids♪

There’s a treehouse with a swing,
and a dinosaur excavation site (a sandbox!)
Looks like most of the dinosaurs have already been dug up!
There’s even a dog run for furry friends.
Across from the open lawn, under the roof, you’ll find
toys galore!
Swings and slides!
A complete playground for the little ones!!
My kid isn’t exactly a “little one” anymore, but he was happily playing along.
The tree in the middle even doubles as a climbing wall.
And when hunger strikes —
it’s lunchtime!!!
The menu features Akaushi (Japanese red beef) burgers, stone-oven pizza, original ramen,
and lots of carefully crafted dishes♪
You can also enjoy camping and BBQ here.
Moms and dads — how about a beer garden evening?
I forgot to snap a wide shot, but the grounds reportedly span about 4,000 tsubo (around 13,200 m²).
Thanks to all that space, they host a variety of events year-round.

And the absolute must-see
for summer is —
the pool!!
A huge pool with a slide pops up in the warmer months.
There’s a little one for toddlers too♪
What is this contraption?
Kids can bounce around like it’s a fluffy obstacle course,
get drenched by water spraying from above,
or run toward the water shooting up from below — endless fun!
And get this — it’s free!
*Though I believe it’s open to children up to 4th grade in elementary school.
To prevent crowding, there’s also a capacity limit.
On this day, we had it all to ourselves! My little one played his heart out.
After a swim —

— it was straight to lunch.
The Akaushi beef burger was absolutely delicious!
Both parents and kids leave Kuroishi Garden completely satisfied! Hot days are still ahead!
Definitely add this place to your Kumamoto travel itinerary.
*The pool is generally open weekends only.
