Welcome to the Pool at Aso Kumamoto Airport Hotel Eminence
Hello, travelers! This is Asukarando, your SaruKuma writer.
Today we’re heading out to Mashiki Town in Kamimashiki District to splash around at
the pool at Aso Kumamoto Airport Hotel Eminence!
The summer pool season is winding down, but there’s still time to squeeze in one last splash β let me show you everything Eminence Pool has to offer! (*^.^*)
At the parking lot, friendly staff are on hand to guide you to a spot. (^^)
Here’s the entrance to Eminence Pool!
I could barely keep myself from breaking into a run! (^-^)v
You’ll find the ticket vending machines right at the entrance.

Here’s the seasonal calendar. There’s not much time left, but you can still get out and enjoy summer!
The colors on the calendar indicate different operating hours.
This season runs through Sunday, September 3rd β let’s make the most of what’s left!
Before heading in, let’s quickly run through the rules!
Items not allowed inside
β Outside food (please consult staff if needed for allergy reasons)
β Alcohol (no drinking before 17:00)
β Excessively large inflatables / floats
β Hazardous items
β Pets
β Bottles or glassware
* In case of sudden heavy rain, thunderstorms, or other severe weather, the pool may close. Please note that ticket refunds are not available in such cases.
Vending machines are everywhere β at the Eminence entrance and around the poolside.
Stay hydrated! (^^)
There are even ice cream vending machines for that classic post-swim treat.
Swim diapers are also sold at the entrance, so no worries if you forgot to pack any.
Tons of pool attractions to enjoy!
Grab a Free Pass (1,200 yen) and you can ride them as many times as you like all day long.
Some attractions have height limits. Guests with shoulder height between 100 cm and 120 cm can ride while wearing a life jacket.
Life jacket rental: 1,500 yen (1,000 yen refunded upon return)
A Japanese-style super-ball scooping game (300 yen) is available too! (^^)
Float rental: 500 yen per day, with unlimited swaps!
This photo was taken right after the pool opened.
You’ll find everything from cute little floats to giant ones β but be warned, by mid-morning they were all rented out! (*_*)
You can also reserve a covered rest area for the day.
This spot, just next to the staircase as you enter, costs 1,000 yen.
We rented this 1,000-yen spot β shaded, with chairs and a table β perfect for families with kids! (*^.^*)
A 2,000-yen option.
A 3,000-yen option.
And here’s a free area (there’s another one too).
The food court is impressively well stocked!
Beef Curry (mild or spicy) β 650 yen
Ramen β 650 yen
Udon β 500 yen
Pork rice rolls (nikumaki) β 450 yen
Takoyaki (octopus balls) β 550 yen
French fries β 350 yen
Yakisoba (fried noodles) β 550 yen β¦ and more!
The system is to buy a meal ticket from the vending machine, then place your order.
Lines get long around lunchtime, so timing your meal a little earlier or later helps a lot.
The ticket machine is cash-only, but a separate QR-code payment option is available too.
Once you’ve handed in your meal ticket, the kitchen staff move incredibly fast β your food is ready in no time! (^^)
There are tables and chairs here where you can sit down to eat.
Several food trucks were also parked poolside.
There’s seriously no shortage of food options here! (^3^)/
Restrooms are available in the changing rooms and near the pool.
The showers have hot water β so refreshing!
I couldn’t take photos of the changing rooms, but they’re spacious and have plenty of lockers.
Top Highlights at Aso Kumamoto Airport Hotel Eminence Pool
First up
The huge lazy river!
That thing in the center of the photo is the Aqua Cube!
I went in with my child to play.
We were only inside for about 5 minutes β but my legs were wobbling when we came outβ¦! (((^^;)
There’s a shallow pool too, so even little ones can have fun! (*^.^*)
Attraction #1: three towering water slides!
* The green one was under maintenance during our visit (2023).
It’s a wildly popular attraction. After climbing all those stairs and waiting in line, my child finally rocketed down the tallest, longest blue slide β apparently it was scary, but the smile on their face afterward was unbeatable! (^-^)v
Floating obstacle course!
Alright!
Time to fire up and let’s go!
I tried it myself β and just standing on it was a workout! The platform sways on the water, so it took everything I had just to keep my balance and not fall in. (*_*)
The grand finale: climb up, then slide down! Standing at the top is surprisingly high up. (^^)
This one was a huge hit with teens and kids alike!
There was also a smaller slide. From up top it still looked pretty high, but everyone was cheerfully zipping down one after another!
Splash! What a finish!
Bubble Land happens every hour on the hour!
Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles β the kids were over the moon!
And then, as it gets darker and the moon comes outβ¦
The whole place lights up!
Night Pool!
For kids used to swimming in the daytime, a nighttime pool is a whole different experience β the dark water made it extra fun, they said! (^-^)v
The kids had so much fun they immediately asked, “Can we come back?!” Eminence Pool was a complete blast! (^-^)v
