Introduction
Hello, everyone!
This is “Gussan,” a writer for Sarukuma.
Have you heard of the annual Kumamoto Specialty Products Festival (Kumamoto no Tokusanhin Matsuri) held at Tsuruya Department Store in Tetorihoncho, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto City?
This festival gathers the most famous and trending shops in Kumamoto, giving visitors a rare chance to enjoy the region’s best gourmet treats all in one place.
And here’s the exciting news — Sarukuma has been invited to join the PR team for the Kumamoto Specialty Products Festival from the planning stages!
Tsuruya Department Store is THE iconic, stylish department store in Kumamoto — everyone here knows it.
My grandmother back home would cry tears of joy if she heard about this! (lol)
Introducing the 3-ji no Donut × Sarukuma Collaboration
For this year’s Kumamoto Specialty Products Festival, we’re thrilled to announce a special collaboration product from 3-ji no Donut × Sarukuma!
3-ji no Donut (“3 o’clock Donut”) is a handmade donut shop built around the concept of “a little happiness for those working hard.” Born from a parent’s wish to give children only the best, wholesome ingredients, every donut is crafted with care and attention to quality.
The shop has no permanent storefront — you can only find these donuts at marches and pop-up events — and they sell out everywhere they go!
Collaborating with this rising star of Kumamoto’s marche scene is truly an honor.
The collaboration product is:
Triple Berry Jam Donut — ¥600
※ Limited to 26 per day
※ Maximum 1 per person, 2 per family.
I’ll admit — I have a serious soft spot for anything featuring three kinds of berries! (lol)
The team kindly took my request to heart, and the result is this dreamy creation: a fluffy whipped cream donut topped with triple berry jam, crowned with cream cheese, and lightly torched on top.
The fluffy whipped cream pairs beautifully with the bright, fresh berry jam, and the mellow cream cheese ties everything together for a truly blissful bite.
This is a must-try, and we’d love for you to experience it for yourself.

The 3-ji no Donut Commitment to Quality
Here’s a look at the carefully selected ingredients used at 3-ji no Donut.
・Domestic Japanese wheat flour
・Unrefined kibi (cane) sugar
・100% natural seawater salt
・Yotsuba butter made from 100% raw milk
・Free-range eggs
・Aluminum-free baking powder
・Domestic rice bran oil
The owners visit producers in person to learn their stories and choose only ingredients that align with their values — making each donut a labor of love from sourcing to finishing touch.
Since every donut is handcrafted by the husband-and-wife team, mass production isn’t possible — but each treat carries a mother’s warm and gentle heart.
This is also their first time appearing at Tsuruya Department Store, so don’t miss this rare opportunity to try them during the festival!
