Introducing Takoyaki Honpo Rider’s

Hello, this is Gachako, a writer for [Sarukuma].

My little sister kept telling me, “The takoyaki here is seriously amazing — you have to try it at least once!”
I used to brush her off, thinking takoyaki is takoyaki, right? Now I want to kick myself for waiting so long.
She was absolutely right — it was delicious!

Today, we’re featuring a food truck that travels all across Kumamoto Prefecture:
[Takoyaki Honpo Rider’s].
You can’t miss the bright green truck!

Based in Yatsushiro City, this takoyaki shop is run by a wonderful, close-knit husband-and-wife team. As the name suggests, they’re motorcycle riders too!
On weekdays, you’ll usually find them around Yatsushiro, especially near AEON Yatsushiro. On weekends and during events, they travel to various locations across Kumamoto Prefecture.

Every flavor of takoyaki is just 550 yen!

Choose from the classic Sauce, plus Dashi Mayo, Salt, and Dashi Soy Sauce.

The most popular flavor is Dashi Mayo!

For 300 yen, you can also order a Shaved Ice Tower.
It’s so impressively huge, you’ll catch yourself staring at other customers’ orders in awe.

I went with the Salt flavor!

One pack contains 6 pieces.
When I tried to lift one with chopsticks, it was so soft it almost fell apart — proof of just how melty and fluffy they are.

The batter is rich with savory dashi flavor, and the octopus inside is wonderfully plump and tender. SO GOOD!
The Salt takoyaki comes topped with green onions, mayonnaise, and rock salt.

It was so delicious I devoured the whole pack in no time!
The takoyaki here truly is something special.
