Welcome to HEALIA
Hello travelers! I’m Gachako, a writer for Sarukuma.
Today I’m excited to introduce you to a wonderful spot in Eta, Nagomi Town, Tamana District:
HEALIA.

Just look at that stylish signage!
HEALIA is just a 1-2 minute drive from Michi-no-Eki Kikusui Roman-kan, with parking for 8 cars available both in front of and behind the shop.

As the sign says, this is a “community cafe” β “a place that connects people with people.” The cafe hosts a wide variety of parenting events and workshops.
On the day I visited, an “Instagram Workshop” was being held.
Many events are still open for sign-ups, so be sure to check them out!

Inside, you’ll find a charming raised tatami-style kids’ space stocked with toys for little ones to enjoy.
The owner has young children too, and you can really feel their genuine passion for supporting families.

The other seating areas are equally stylish β total interior goals! β¨β¨

Here’s a look at the cafe menu.

Coffee starts at just 350 yen, and soft drinks at 300 yen β wonderfully wallet-friendly!
Kids’ drinks (orange juice, apple juice, and Calpis) are only 250 yen!

Tempting cakes are beautifully displayed in the showcase.
The Cake Set, which includes both a cake and a drink, is just 690 yen β probably the best value on the menu! By the way, the owner mentioned plans to eventually open an izakaya here as well. Something to look forward to!
HEALIA’s Recommended Menu Item

I tried the SOY Coffee.
It’s a caffeine-free, coffee-style beverage made entirely from soybeans. Since it’s produced right here in Nagomi Town, I’d seen it featured on the local hometown tax (furusato nozei) program and had been curious about it. It’s especially recommended for nursing or pregnant moms.
The carefully roasted soybeans give it a clean, refreshing finish β and it’s surprisingly delicious!

The aromatic scent of roasted soybeans fills the elegant space, complete with a stunning chandelier (this area doubles as a kitchen for cooking classes).

They even let me use their free Wi-Fi, and I got a ton of work done.
A true friend to freelancers and remote workers β thank you!
The space can also be rented out privately, making it a great option for instructors and workshop hosts.
Right next door, they sell clothing and cosmetics β just being there made me feel a little more glamorous. Nagomi Town really is something special! Be sure to stop by HEALIA on your next visit to Kumamoto.
