Introducing Old Fashion

Hello travelers! This is Gachako, writer for [SaruKuma].

Today I’d like to introduce you to Old Fashion, located inside the Tsukiji Fish Market in Tamana City.
This charming donut cafe newly opened on August 25, 2022.

It was my first time visiting Tamana Fish Market, and the place has such a wonderfully nostalgic atmosphere.
Visitors can park in the wide lot at the front of the market.

The building with the light blue fish-painted wall is Old Fashion.
It was originally a fish shop before being transformed into this lovely cafe.

This little corner feels like another world — in the best possible way.
It’s just impossibly stylish.

The vintage donut display case fits the atmosphere perfectly.
When I asked the owner where they found such a beautiful vintage piece, the answer was:

‘I found it at a flea market!’

Wow — what an incredible find!

There’s counter seating

as well as two tables, so you can enjoy a relaxing cafe time inside the shop.

The interior had such a lovely fragrance that I wondered if they were burning aromatherapy oils, but…

the source turned out to be these herbal tea leaves.
Their single-serving tea bags are wrapped in gauze rather than non-woven fabric — a charming detail.

The donut lineup on the day of my visit included:

・Original 330 yen
・Apple Cider 400 yen
・Cacao Cocoa 400 yen
・Gateau Chocolat and a few other flavors that had already sold out.

Gift boxes are also available, making these donuts a lovely souvenir to bring back home.

Here’s the drink menu.

You can choose from a wide variety including coffee, milk coffee, black tea, milk tea, herbal tea, Chinese tea, apple juice, and many more.

Old Fashion Recommended Menu

I took out the Cacao Cocoa donut and the Original.
The takeout bags are absolutely adorable too!

The donut is drizzled with a rich cacao cocoa sauce.

Wonderfully fluffy.

The donuts are fried in high-quality rapeseed oil.

Made with simple ingredients, the sweetness is gentle rather than overwhelming — these are old-fashioned donuts that bring back a sense of nostalgia with every bite.

I also picked up some herbal tea (Chamomile Lavender).

It’s said to be perfect for relaxing in the evening.

This was my first time having herbal tea with such intact, well-preserved flowers.
The aroma was beautiful, and after steeping, the flowers had unfurled completely in the cup.

Next time, I definitely want to slow down and enjoy a relaxing visit at the cafe itself!

Open only on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Be sure to stop by Old Fashion when you’re in the area —
you won’t regret it!
