Today, I’m introducing Shisui-machi Yoshitomi, Kikuchi City‘s [Marumi Tebasennin].
This chicken wing specialty shop just opened on May 13, 2022.

The shop is located near LATOBASE, a place I’ve worked with at events before, but [Marumi Tebasennin] has absolutely no signs or banners visible from the main road.

“Wait, is it really in a place like this?” — I honestly started doubting the friend who kindly guided me here (lol).
Here’s the parking lot.
It stretches all the way back, so I had to ask, “How far does the parking go?” — but you can park anywhere on the gravel area.
The surroundings hardly look like the kind of place you’d find a restaurant (lol), but right in front, you’ll spot this building.
The shop is on the same property as the parking lot.
The friendly owner used to run a mobile food truck selling yakitori and yakisoba.There’s also a dining space right next door.
Biting into a hot, freshly fried chicken wing right on the spot — that has to be the best!
The menu features golden chicken wings (tebasaki) and drinks.
I visited just one hour after opening, and they were already sold out.
(So glad I made a reservation!)

It’s soft drinks only, but the prices are wallet-friendly enough that even kids can afford them with their pocket money.

Marumi Tebasennin Recommended Menu

The recommendation is, of course, the chicken wings.
Made from domestic herb-fed chicken and seasoned with natural dashi from Miyazaki Prefecture, these are truly golden chicken wings.
No wonder a “chicken wing sage” (tebasennin) would descend from the heavens! (lol)
Each fried chicken wing is 150 yen.
This time, I bought 20 wings. The golden chicken wings are absolutely glistening!
As someone who loves chicken more than beef or pork, I’d been waiting all day for this moment.
(Spent 1.5 hours playing at the pool with the kids on my day off — starving!!)
CHOMP!!! Soooo good.
The seasoning is lighter than it looks, so you can keep snacking on them like chips!

The kids cheered with 110-yen ramune sodas while the adults toasted with beer.
