This is Maru, a writer for Sarukuma 🙂🙃

Today I’m excited to introduce a charming little bakery tucked away in Kagami-machi, Yatsushiro City, Kumamoto Prefecture —
“Bakery Bull”.

Doesn’t that bright red shipping container look fantastic against the blue Kumamoto sky?
The bakery is located right next to JR Arisa Station, making it super easy to find.

Plenty of parking spaces are available right out front 🚙💨

An adorable bulldog illustration greets you at the entrance (^^)
The shop is actually named after a beloved bulldog the owner used to have — a sweet little story behind the brand.

Everything here is handcrafted with care, and the variety of breads is genuinely impressive 😊😊

Step inside the container and you’re hit with the heavenly aroma of freshly baked bread 🎶

Anko (sweet red bean) Whip — 150 yen
Custard Whip — 150 yen
Chocolate Custard — 140 yen
Anpan (sweet bean bun) — 120 yen and more!

There’s also a fantastic selection of sweet breads that kids absolutely love 👦👧

You’ll also find a lovely lineup of sandwich breads.

Here are the savory-filled breads — perfect for a quick lunch on the go.

Fruit sandwiches are also on offer (´∀｀)

Beyond the bread shelves, you can also order their signature Bull Burger and Bull Dog — both local favorites!

They also offer bento (lunch boxes), but please note that bento orders are best reserved at least one day in advance.

Lately, their Taco Rice and Loco Moco bento boxes have been hugely popular — a fun fusion twist worth trying!
These also require advance reservations the day before.

There’s also outdoor terrace seating, perfect for relaxing and enjoying your bread fresh out of the oven.

Bakery Bull’s Must-Try Menu

First up — Bakery Bull’s signature crowd-pleaser!

The Bull Dog — 270 yen. The American diner vibe of the container fits this menu item perfectly (^^)

Each one is made fresh to order, so it arrives piping hot 🌭🌭

The cabbage on top gets beautifully charred — it adds such a great texture and depth.
With just the right kick of mustard, it’s perfectly spicy and flavorful. One bite and you’ll understand exactly why it’s so popular 😍😍

I highly recommend eating it straight away while it’s still piping hot!

And here’s another favorite — the Strawberry Fruit Sandwich for 190 yen 🍓

Pillowy soft bread piled high with luscious whipped cream — light, fresh, and not too sweet. You’ll polish it off in seconds 😍😍
Just thinking about it makes me want to go back for more!

I’ll definitely return to try the Bull Burger and the rest of the menu!
