2021.05.01

A firsthand report from a Sarukuma writer who visited Smoothie STAND, a beloved smoothie spot in Arao City. Prices start from just 290 yen. We’ve also covered family-friendly tips, access info, and opening hours.
Welcome to Smoothie STAND
Hello there, fellow travelers!
This is Igaguri, a writer for Sarukuma 🌰
Today, I’m excited to introduce you to a charming little spot located in Manda, Arao City, Kumamoto Prefecture:
Smoothie STAND

There’s parking for about 3 to 4 cars right in front of the shop.
Since the shop sits in a residential neighborhood, please avoid parking on the surrounding streets out of respect for local residents.

You’ll find Smoothie STAND right across from Miyajima Kindergarten, conveniently located along the route to the UNESCO World Heritage site, Manda Coal Mine—a perfect refreshment stop during your sightseeing!
Just turn at Keisuke Dental & Orthodontic Clinic and you’re there!
Must-Try Menu Items at Smoothie STAND

When I arrived just before 5 PM, quite a few items had already sold out! (The menu items crossed out in black were finished for the day.)
All bubble tea (tapioca) drinks are just 290 yen!
Such a steal!

Alongside classic combinations like:
Strawberry Milk
Banana Milk
You’ll find adventurous flavors like:
Acai Mango
Choco Mint Banana
Pulpy Mandarin Orange

Pumpkin Banana
Tapioca Green Mix (a vibrant blend of kiwi, komatsuna spinach, pineapple, and aloe!)
With such unique combinations, you’ll want to try them all!
All fruit smoothies are just 390 yen each—an incredible value.

This time, I went with the Berry Berry smoothie (^^♪
And the best part? They added tapioca pearls as a free topping!

It’s absolutely packed with chunks of fresh strawberries and blueberries!
And don’t worry—they include a spoon so you can scoop up every last bite ☆

I scooped up some of the tapioca pearls.
They’re nearly the same size as the blueberries—seriously generous!
<What Makes Smoothie STAND Special>
No refined sugar—they use oligosaccharide instead!
(Oligosaccharide is known to be tooth-friendly, helps the body absorb minerals more efficiently, and even supports digestive health.)
Fresh tapioca pearls cooked daily, with no preservatives!
Since no sugar is added during the cooking process, the calories are impressively low.
It’s a treat that even kids can enjoy worry-free (⋈◍>◡<◍)。✧♡

Smoothie STAND is a takeout-only smoothie shop—perfect for grabbing a refreshing drink on the go.
In the late afternoon, the shop tends to bustle with students stopping by after school.
Keep in mind: when popular items sell out, the shop may close earlier than usual, so plan accordingly!
