Introducing Minamiaso Fureai Farm
Hello there!
This is Sunny π©, your SaruKuma writer.
Today I’m taking you to Futada, Minamiaso Village, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture,
to visit Minamiaso Fureai Farm.
Get ready for everyone’s favorite β strawberry picking! β‘
Here’s the entrance.
You’ll see rows of greenhouses lined up neatly. (^^)
The farm sits right next door to Ichigorinka, which we’ve featured before.
https://sarukuma.info/gourmet/__trashed-42
The spacious parking lot is shared with Ichigorinka.
The farm is just a short walk down from the parking area.
Once inside, you’ll sanitize your hands and head to the reception desk.
You can choose between all-you-can-eat or pick-and-take-home, with payment for the all-you-can-eat option made upfront.
At the reception, you’ll find homemade strawberry jam and ice cream made with the farm’s own berries,
plus condensed milk available to pair with your all-you-can-eat experience.
Free coffee and tea are also on the house. What a lovely touch! (^^)
Domestic shipping within Japan is also available.
Don’t worry about the cute little honeybees buzzing around β they’re peaceful pollinators and won’t bother you! βͺ
First things first β strike a pose at the cute photo cutout board and say “Cheese!” lol
The all-you-can-eat option comes with unlimited time!! (prices vary by month)
Honestly, this is such a wonderful perk! βͺ
No need to rush and stuff yourself within a time limit.
The pick-and-take-home option costs 200 to 220 yen per 100g.
You can sample up to 5 different strawberry varieties.
On our visit, 4 varieties were available. (^^)
Why We Love Minamiaso Fureai Farm

It’s a wonderfully spacious farm.
Being the foodies that we are, we naturally went for the all-you-can-eat course!!
Since we visited in February, the prices were:
Adults: 1,600 yen
Elementary school students: 1,100 yen
Ages 3 and up: 800 yen
Ages 2 and under: 400 yen
Each person receives a clear plastic container.
After a quick lesson on how to pick the strawberries… let the picking begin!!
You can crouch down to pick from the lower beds…
…or stay standing for the elevated beds! βͺ
Both ground cultivation and elevated bench cultivation methods are used, so you can choose whichever picking style suits you best.
The aisles are nice and wide, making them accessible for strollers and wheelchairs!
Ahhh β‘ So beautiful! (*Β΄Οο½*)
And so deliciously tempting! β‘
Big, vibrant red, and absolutely gorgeous! βͺ
There are plenty of chairs and tables both inside and outside the greenhouses, so you can sit back and enjoy your strawberries at your own pace.
We ate all over the place (haha)
Everyone picked a huge haul! www
So delicious! βͺ Alright, I’m aiming for 100 strawberries!!!!!!
The kids begged, “Buy us condensed milk!!” so we did,
but then it turned out to be “Way too sweet!!” (-“-)
So we ended up not using it after all…
Because honestly, the strawberries are already so sweet and delicious on their own! β‘
Of course, you can dip them in the condensed milk if that’s your preference. (^^)
The kids took a little break.
Having a kids’ play space is fantastic! βͺ
Parents can sip coffee and savor strawberries while the little ones play happily nearby. (^^)
And there’s even more β check this out! Ξ£(ο½₯Οο½₯οΎ)οΎ
In a separate greenhouse from where the strawberries are grown,
you can play badminton,
or table tennis…
It’s a paradise of fun for both kids and grown-ups! (β§β½β¦)
When you’re full, get some exercise.
When you’re hungry again, eat more strawberries.
When you’re full again, more exercise…
Hungry once more? Back to the strawberries! (haha)
Truly an endless strawberry-picking experience! (^^)
Aaah, totally stuffed β what a feast! Thank you for the meal!
We may have actually eaten 100 each, lol!
By the way, the restrooms feature a diaper-changing area and a nursing space,
so families with little ones can visit with peace of mind. βͺ
With so many strawberry farms in Kumamoto to choose from,
if you can’t decide, definitely head to Minamiaso Fureai Farm!
It’s such a fantastic experience! βͺ
